      Well, it’s about time that you called me back! I left the club over an hour ago and that’s when I sent you that text. Care to explain why Lita would kiss me? Nicole demanded but without venom in her voice.

      Yeah, well...while you were busy seducing my husband...I dipped my foot in the lady pond I guess you’d say. I wanted to be a different person, and I accomplished that, Charlene admitted.

      I did not see that coming at all! Nikki replied.

      Neither did I. Just like you and Louis, I did not plan to get involved with anyone. I just wanted new experiences. I let things lead me where I wanted to go, so...

      You made up for what you didn’t do in college then I suppose.

      Not exactly.

      What are you saying...do you have feelings for Lita?

      I might. I haven’t slowed down long enough to think about it. At first, it was just about the new experience. I like her as a person though. We hit it off right from the start. You really were missing out having her as a friend.

      What do you want me to tell her? She’s not gonna let this go.

      I will call her tomorrow and explain the whole story. Are you fine with me blowing your cover?

      As long as you are confident that she won’t have me fired from here. I know that I could always do what I do at other clubs. But, I really love this place.

      I promise. No one else should be hurt from our selfish swap. But, I’ve gotta go clean up the mess you made with Louis.

      Oops! I’m really sorry...I truly am. Love ya sis!

      Trapped Lives

      Chapter 1

      Charlene Bryant checked the time on her cell phone for the tenth time since she boarded the plane. She had hoped her sister Nicole would have returned her call. It was very early in the morning, so Charlene assumed that Nicole would be getting ready for work. She wanted to prepare her sister for her arrival back home to Atlanta. But, Charlene had been too frightened to wait around in New York any longer.

      When she decided to switch places with her twin sister, being attacked and having her life threatened was not what she expected to happen. She had only been focused on the fantasy lifestyle, the dynamic city, and the freedom to do practically whatever she wanted. She needed to confront her sister to find out who wanted to have her killed and why. Charlene remembered her first flight to New York. It seemed like they had taken the long way back on her return flight. She had chewed her nails down almost to the quick. She didn’t know if she was more frightened for Nikki or for herself.

      Nicole rolled over in bed and reached for Louis. He wasn’t in the bed with her anymore. She heard him in the shower, so she forced herself into the kitchen to make coffee. It had been a late night and she had to be at work in a couple of hours. She felt coffee would be her only salvation. She thought that she might need the energy to deal with Louis when he emerged from the bathroom. It was a tough situation that she had gotten herself into, but more so for Charlene once she returned. She knew she was in for a fight once her sister learned the truth about her and Louis. Nicole never planned on falling for Louis, it just happened before she could do anything to stop it...or so she told herself.

      Louis and Nicole didn’t say too much to each other until they both had their coffee. They tried to keep their voices down since the children were still asleep upstairs. No plans were confirmed, just understood. Nicole was too worried about her sister to get Louis’ hopes up any further. Louis displayed the attitude that everything would go back to the way that it had been.

      A knock at the door once Louis had left, took Nicole by surprise. Louis, did you forget something? she asked as she opened the door.

      Charley? What...?

      Nikki! Why haven’t you returned my calls? I know that it was early, but it was an emergency!

      Come in before someone sees you! We will have to be quiet before we wake the kids, too.

      It was still a good hour before Nicole would have to wake Jimmy and Angie to get them ready for school. But, she didn’t want to risk waking them up and discover the two sisters in a frazzled state.

      So, what happened that has gotten you so shaken up? It must’ve been huge for you to hop on a plane and fly back here, Nikki wondered.

      It is and it scared me to death. But first I’d like to know...why did you think Louis was at the door just now? Charley asked.

      I...he mentioned that he may stop by and take the kids to school for me. You know how much he has been bugging me lately.

      Then why did you ask if he forgot something?

      Well...

      Come on now Nikki. Spit it out. You know that I will find out as soon as I talk to Louis.

      It just sorta happened. I was giving him a rough time, I really was. But, something about him...he was so persistent and charming. I guess I let the alcohol get the best of me. I didn’t mean for that to happen. I’m so sorry Charley.

      How long have the two of you been...?
