About this ebook

Who knew making dinner could change your life? Louisa Copeland certainly didn’t. But when the George Foreman grill falls out of the pantry onto her head, resulting in a bump and a mighty case of amnesia, Louisa’s life takes a turn for the unexpected. Who is this Collin fellow, claiming she is his wife? And whose kids are those? Her name can’t be Louisa. Why, she is the renowned romance writer Jazz Sweet, not a Midwestern mom of three. Struggling to put the pieces together of the life she’s told she had, Louisa/Jazz may realize that some memories are better left alone.

Mind of Her Own by Diana Lesire BrandmeyerWhen I started this book I thought wow what a great way to get out of doing the household chores til I realized she was not faking it. Then I got scared that she forget about her life and thought she was someone else and not married, no kids, etc.She returns to the house where Collin tries to help more around the house and with the kids. He discovers journals from Louisa and starts reading them, not realizing it's her true feelings, about them and life.He tries to make things better for Jazz by doing things he's never done before with her and the kids-taking time from work and having fun activities with them all. Scents might jog her memory so he gives her many things to smell and sometimes it does remind her of some things in the past. She brings up things he never knew about and she swears she's a writer but not bookstores carry her books. They all go to her family reunion where she recalls one tragic event and it comes to light what happened when she was just a child and it puts one of her children in harm's way and Collin helps to stop it from happening again. He had also never realized how much church mattered and being part of the community with religious beliefs. Good read, kept me interested and was fun to read about. Other inspirational works by other authors are highlighted at the end of this book.I received this book from Book Club Network (bookfun.org) in exchange for my honest review.

I read Mind of her own, in exchange for honest review from Tyndale Blog Network. The book was written by Diana Desire Brandmeyer and published by Tyndale House Publishers Inc.The book is about Louisa, who develops a case of amnesia after a knock to the head by a George Foreman Grill. (which is why I chose the book. The description was amazing). She can't remember her name or her life, with three kids. The book opens as Louisa is reading a romance novel, maybe she reading a steamy love scene. Anyway, she is entranced in the book, and jolted back to reality, when the kids start fighting and screaming. Nothing like children to mess up a little tranquility. :-) The scene continues as mama tries to diffuse the situation, with a smart-mouthed child too. Louisa is also in a relationship with Collin and they are currently not speaking or sleeping in the same bed because of a fight. This is just the beginning, in addition to a headache and an annoying grandma :-)I definitely felt Louisa's pain--the kids, annoying relatives, stay-at-home mom--the frustration--the need for a quick break. The book was a great read. Will continue to read until it expires.

I just finished a great book called Mind of Her Own by Diana Lesire Brandmeyer. Louisa Copeland is a wife to Collin and mother to three kids (brave woman). Madison is twelve years old and a typical teenage girl, Joey is five, and Tim is four. Louisa is getting ready to make dinner and goes to get the indoor grill out of the pantry. Their dog, Cleo comes running through the house and runs into Louisa just as she starts pulling on the grill (you just know this is not going to be good). The next thing Louisa knows is she is waking up in a hospital with a stranger. The man states he is her husband, Collin, but she does not know him. And he keeps calling her Louisa! Her name is Jazz Sweet and she is an inspirational romance writer who lives in Florida (somewhere). She cannot remember the name of her agent or where she lived in Florida. The doctor tells Collin to take her home and she will maybe get back her memories. Jazz does not want to go home with Collin who is a stranger to her especially when she hears there are kids in the house. But it seems she has little choice in the matter. The doctor believes that there is something that happened in Louisa’s childhood that is the trigger (what could have happened to Louisa that she wants to forget). The Copeland family is in for some difficult weeks. The children are not sure of this new mom. She is very different. Jazz is more vibrant (hates Louisa’s boring clothes) and carefree, but she is not used to taking care of children. Jazz is used to spending her days writing and tends to forget what is going on around her when she is working (which can lead to missing children and dogs). Jazz does not do laundry, cook, or like cleaning (she hires a cleaning service). Collin had been spending a lot of time at work trying to make partner. Now he is having to spend more time at home and he finds out that he likes it (as well as his new wife). He also discovers his wife’s journals that give him insight into Louisa (as well as himself). With faith, love, and patience this family will come back together again better than before. All thanks to an indoor grill!Mind of Her Own was an insightful and engaging novel. I read this novel straight through (I did not want to put it down). There is a very delicate subject in the novel that the author handles beautifully. I give Mind of Her Own 5 out of 5 stars. This is a Christian or inspirational novel, but it is in no way preachy or in your face (very subtle). I received a complimentary copy of Mind of Her Own from the author in exchange for an honest review. The review and opinions expressed are my own.

The first words you read on the website of author Diana Lesire Brandmeyer is “Stringing 26 letters into a story.” That is exactly what she did with this story. 26 Letters changed the lives of a family when the George Foreman grill fell onto the head of Louisa Copeland, wife and mother of three children. Have you ever felt stuck, and wished things were different? And then it happened and you wish things would go back to normal, to the familiar things? Perhaps that is the way Louisa Copeland felt before she lost her memory.“Louisa, baby. You gave me quite a scare. How do you feel?” His hand trembled as it gently swept across her forehead.“I’m Jazz.” Her words oozed like cold honey past her thickened tongue. She was desperate for information and a cool drink of water. “Wrong woman. Where am I?”Was Jazz Sweet a figment of Louisa’s imagination that became a reality? Why this dramatic change from a wife and mother of three kids to an international author? How did Collin Copeland cope with this drastic change in his wife? Did he prefer Jazz to Louisa, or did he wish things would go back to the way it was? I enjoyed Mind of Her Own tremendously. It is one of those books that you want to know how it is going to end, but you wish you could keep on reading, even after the last page. It is inevitable –the reader becomes engrossed in this family’s life, experiencing the ups and downs of the three main characters. It is impossible to choose sides; all three –Collin, Louisa and Jazz have a story to tell. As a reader you want to be part of each one’s story, and you hope for a romantic, happy ending for all three. I highly recommend Mind of Her Own. Tyndale House Publishers as part of their media review bloggers program provided this book to me for free in exchange for this honest review.

What a treat this book was. The author has captured a story that intrigued me so much I read the book in one day. It is very well written with great characters. The story is about Louisa Copeland, mother to three children and her husband Collin who is a very successful attorney. Louisa is almost to perfect of a housewife. She keeps things in perfect order and always has wonderful meals for the family. But not all is well between Louisa and Collin. They seem to be drifting apart and the perfect family life is not so perfect after all. One day Louisa is preparing to make grilled chicken. She reachs high up in the pantry when Bam! It seemed to happen so fast, first she was grabbing for the grill and then finds herself in a hospital room with a strange man staring at her. Everyone keeps calling her Louisa and she is confused. Her name is Jazz and she writes inspirational stories and lives in Florida. What a dilemma she has gotten herself into. The doctor explains that she has a concussion and has temporarily lost her memory. Louisa is not happy when she finds out she is going home with this stranger who insists he is her husband. The adventure is on as two people try to re establish their relationship and bring their family back together. The author has written such a charming story with laughter, tears, hope and secrets that could change everything. Will Louisa get her memory back ? As she tries to find her way back home , will Louisa and Collin fall in love all over again? When a hidden memory is revealed what impact will it have on Louisa? As I read the book, it made me think how precious life is and how we are all guilty at times of taking someone for granted. Thank you for writing such an inspiring story filled with a lesson we all need to be reminded of. Sometimes we need to appreciate what we have and cherish those moments more. What a sweet story that is written with compassion and second chances. I received a copy of this book from BookClubNetwork for an honest review.
