Killer Strategies & Tactics For Entrepreneurs

About this ebook
Entrepreneurs are the lifeblood of the global economy. We put it all on the line everyday. We are risk takers and innovators that operate without a safety net. Typically we learn by making mistakes and hopefully learning from them. As kids you might remember the Bozo the Clown punching bag. You punched it down and it always came back up, a great example of our tenacity and personalities. And yet where do we go to learn to avoid situations which occur in our businesses everyday? Killer Strategies & Tactics For Entrepreneurs is a result of the bumps and bruises on my backside of 30 plus years as an entrepreneur and the successes of great clients from my coaching practice. It is not designed to answer all the questions and solve the issues that we deal with everyday. It is designed to allow the reader to think deeper about certain situations and issues that may arise. Examples are provided that will assist you, examples that have been proven to work. The book is short, 20 chapters each that stand alone. As Entrepreneurs we generally have short attention spans so reading the book can be done in short spurts of 5-10 minutes at a time. If the topic is relevant read through it and you'll get great insights to make your bumpy journey smoother. It is my ultimate desire to see you succeed, that is what gets me up each morning. This book is the first of a series of Killer Strategies & Tactics as 20 topics cannot possibly cover all the issues Entrepreneurs have to deal with. With the aid of my readers needs and suggestions and my ongoing efforts expect more books in the future. Enjoy the ride!

Introduction
As a group entrepreneurs provide the majority of employment in countries around the world. We provide a significant chunk of our countries’ GDP and our success is critical to our employees and of course, most importantly our families. I wrote this eBook because I wanted to assist entrepreneurial leaders to work more effectively and experience more success.
Most of us come from modest beginnings and have either dreamed of owning our own business or are taking over a family business. Our major struggle is that we are alone. Alone to make critical decisions. Our innate sense of responsibility can be both our strength and our weakness. Our tribe has typically not had much formal business education, so we learn as we go, often in the most extreme circumstances - those we create. As an entrepreneur I’ve been in your shoes, and I have the bumps and bruises on my backside to prove it.
Your typical day may involve dealing with poor cash flow, a tough employee market, screaming customers, unforgiving lenders, and unreasonable partners, and finally going home wondering whether it’s all worth it, yet there you are again the next day working hard on your business. If at the end of reading this short book (short because I know that as an entrepreneur you likely have a short attention span), you find one pearl of wisdom, which ends up assisting you to succeed further; I’ll have achieved my strategy.
Killer Strategies & Tactics is a guide to assist you to succeed. The content is based on my experience in owning companies, both successful and not so successful. It is also based on the experiences and best practices of my clients. As a leadership coach I have the privilege of working with awesome entrepreneurs who willingly slug it out every day. A word of warning, this book will not give you all the answers. I will challenge you to think about what you are doing and I will offer strategies and tactics that you may want to consider, look at it as a buffet, great variety offered and you choose what to do and how much time you’ll take to implement.
At the end of the book you will find an action items
list. Pick 1 to 3 strategies and tactics from each chapter, one chapter at a time, and work out the plan to implement. I know you are the ultimate multi-tasker, yet focus is necessary in order to be successful.
It is my expectation this book is the first in a series of Killer Strategies & Tactics For Entrepreneurs; I know I haven’t covered all the possible business issues. Let’s keep in touch and let me know if other areas of your business could benefit from new Killer Strategies & Tactics For Entrepreneurs.
Enjoy, and here’s to your success!
Chapter 1: Leadership
Leadership can be a lonely job. If you operate in a vacuum and make decisions on your own, you are headed for failure. Leadership is about being present, looking into the future, and engaging your staff - yourself. Look for collaboration, honesty, and fierce conversations, because at the end of the day you need opinions and your people’s ideas to make great final decisions. Take a look at the following strategies and tactics; you’ll be on your way to becoming a better leader!
- Do As I Say, Not As I Do! No!! As much as it sounds ridiculous many leaders really do act this way. Walk the walk and be
