SHAWN STUDER, Ph.D., lives his passion: promoting, teaching and growing organic food “The Natural Way”, to help others improve the health of their bodies and this Planet. After growing his own vegetables and comparing his successful efforts to his neighbors who did not use organic methods, Shawn became aware of the need to spread the word about organic gardening. He invested himself in the effort and began to learn more about the food supply and teach others about the benefits of gardening “The Natural Way”. With a doctorate in Spiritual Education, Shawn readily applies his spiritual side to his organic gardening passion. This is apparent in his teaching ability and his immediate rapport with clients. This passion emerged after two decades working in the airline industry and living in East Texas for 5 years where organically grown vegetables were in short supply. His experience in Real Estate made him aware of the need for organic landscaping practices as well. Shawn began studying organic gardening as a hobby and realized he loved both the nature of gardening and the ability to grow wholesome foods without the dangers of pesticides and chemical lacing of typical commercially grown produce. He focused on becoming an expert in healthy soil preparation and applying that knowledge in the field. He is so passionate about gardening “The Natural Way” that he turned it into a business. Shawn co-founded his company, Body, Mind & Soil, with an idea for organic gardeners: a hose end filter that removes chlorine, chloramines, and some heavy metals from the tap water. His business also offers gardening classes, educational videos, organic gardening products, installed raised bed organic vegetable gardens, fruit tree planting, and provides consultation for organic landscaping both for homes and businesses. In addition, Shawn’s Organic Program saves his clients money by saving water. Shawn is also a Master Composter.
