    Day Three

A content sigh escapes my withered body. Large red bumps cover every naked inch of me. Lying on my back, my right cheek rests on the earth. My breath comes in ragged, shallow gasps. The apple had tasted wonderful.

Sunlight filters through dancing foliage. Upturned powder sparkles like fairy dust in the yellow light. The sun is warm against my arms. Its light covers my skin in patches. The weeping willow’s branches sway in the breeze. The wind travels down and catches my hair. It caresses my face like a lover.
