About this ebook
The dragons return and resume their efforts to keep the Unseen menace from gaining a stronghold on the city. As they reevaluate their plans, a new Unseen in the area begins catching their attention. It doesn't operate according to the way these creatures have for centuries.
One option which presents itself is this Unseen is the large one which Lysander released earlier. If it is, they are in for a considerable amount of trouble. When the dragons and Annabel confront the creature, they find it hasn't returned alone.

Keep running,
Crispin said noticing Annabel Wells and his sister, Sera, turning around to look at him and Henry chasing after them. He refused to look behind himself; knowing a familiar dark shape would be chasing them through the street if he did. Watching it come after them would only make him more nervous than he was already.
The two women took a sharp turn and headed down the street; knocking into people who were oblivious as to what was going on around them. Watch out,
a man said as he held his cell phone, being shoved out of the way by a hurried Annabel.
She turned for a moment to apologize but noticed Crispin’s stern look from the distance as he gained ground. Well, yeah,
she said quickly as she continued running away from the darkness growing behind them.
If she stopped to apologize to him, then she knew it might give the Unseen enough time to catch up to her. If an Unseen caught a human, it siphoned some of their life energy as its own, gaining power and making it harder for them to destroy. These creatures were the primary reasons why dragons like Crispin and the others existed – to keep the darkness from killing everyone it came across.
Annabel looked over at Sera who seemed slightly confused. She pushed her brown hair out of her face to gain a better clarity on the street in front of her. Do you remember what street we’re looking for?
I think D,
Sera said as she began second guessing herself. She looked upwards at the sign indicating which street was coming up. Or E. I want to say D though. I have a good feeling about D.
She shoved past more people who remained caught up in their own problems which seemed to only include the two women pushing them.
Dragons saw the Unseen but humans couldn’t. They had no idea a creature made of pure darkness that wanted to kill them was chasing after Annabel and Sera. The only reason Annabel could see an Unseen was because she had been touched by one. It was rare for a human to be touched by an Unseen and survive. This was part of the reason why she stayed close to the dragons.
Sera took the first turn she came to and then let out a moan of complaint. Wrong,
she said as she tried turning around only to bump into Annabel.
Crispin and Henry ran behind them quickly, noticing Sera took the wrong turn. Didn’t expect less,
Crispin muttered under his breath as he caught up to them. He started breathing heavy to catch his breath. In a few seconds, he’d need all of his strength if he wanted to destroy the Unseen.
The buildings nearby would have to protect them as much as possible. If Sera had gone down the correct street, there would’ve been a way for the two women to get out of harm’s way. Just stay in the back,
Crispin said as he and Henry readied themselves for the Unseen’s approach.
Annabel huddled herself in the corner near a dumpster, feeling the metallic object becoming cold to the touch. She pulled her hand back and stared at the spot.
Unseen usually didn’t have the ability to turn things freezing cold at a distance. The only one she knew of which had this ability was one which also had the ability to freeze dragons and teleport people through time. Her hand started shaking.
Crispin, I think it’s the big one,
she said; her voice rising as loudly as she could over the incoming whirl of noise. A sheet of paper latched itself to the side of her face.
He nodded in acknowledgement. Debris around them started moving in a tunnel fashion and he felt his dark hair being blown harshly to the side. He cast a sideways glance at Henry and got the appropriate response – neither one of them was sure of what was about to happen.
For the past few months they noticed an increased amount of activity when it came to Unseen in the area. The dragons kept installing new cameras around the city to make sure they didn’t miss any of these creatures of darkness when they passed. There were still lots of problems they were dealing with because of the recent trouble they had with other dragons and knights. Getting an upper hand on at least one opponent was key to their survival.
Rethinking this?
Henry kept his eyes locked forward; noticing the Unseen growing in strength. It always did this right before it sprang at them. The air around them whistled loudly as it was sucked into the vortex of the Unseen.
Crispin shook his head. Nope.
They turned to one another and smiled; switching their hands at the same time into dragon claws.
The only things that could do serious damage to an Unseen were the claws of a dragon or his fire breath. Everything else seemed to pass through the creature without nicking off a chunk of darkness.
The Unseen moved closer towards them and Crispin relaxed his guard slightly. This entity didn’t have dark red glowing eyes. Those were the ones he had seen on the large Unseen that Annabel was worried about. Perhaps this was only a normal one which managed to learn how to use the environment more to its advantage. The creatures could be adapting more in an effort to last longer in combat.
One,
Crispin said as he readied
