As an actor or an author, you may use a pseudonym - a pen-name - a stage name. The analysis of Norma Jeane Mortenson, also known as Marilyn Monroe and Norma Jeane Baker, highlights this interplay.

    Ego Purpose & Soul Purpose Numerology are the methods of Numerology, personally developed and practiced by author Mark Carter. They are unique and challenge the Numerology community to ensure the processes being used can be supported with logical and substantive research.

Rising from the ashes I rebuilt myself - studied at university - Bachelor degree in Info Tech - that I never have worked at - returned to work as a Business Analyst (the degree helped a bit).In between I studied some courses on Counseling to support my habit of getting involved in helping people in this way. Today I am focusing more on my home life than my work life. More and more as my life has progressed I have returned to the reading and study that fills my life with dreams - Numerology - Tarot - Sacredness - Counseling - Psychology.My life and work has all been about preparing me for this. My god is in Nature and my peace and happiness is found on my 300 acre (120 hectare) property with my wife in our rammed earth home located on the Granite Belt - just outside the town of Stanthorpe in Queensland - Australia.

      Chapter 1 - What is Ego Purpose Numerology

      Ego Purpose Numerology is the Numerology of Names. Names are the labels given to the physical incarnation of the soul. The physical incarnation presents with an ego that is identified with a name. This ego is the persona that presents itself as the main face or personality of the Soul. Some refer to it as a mask. Hidden beneath this mask is the true purpose of the Soul, and also, the Hidden Resolve of the inner nature.

      The true purpose of the Soul is derived from the Birth Date and is the basis of what I refer to as Soul Purpose Numerology.

      The Hidden Resolve is that enigmatic quality of a person, that is revealed only in the most trying of circumstances. It is a quality that will surprise, even shock, when a hidden side of a person is revealed, that is at odds with the known, outer personality. The Hidden Resolve is determined by analysis of the vowels in a name.

      The Ego Purpose is derived from the consonants in a name.

      Ego Purpose and Soul Purpose are engaged in a lifelong battle, like two snakes entwined - writhing and twisting - their energy combining to generate a Life Force - an Essence - that has wings to fly. This is symbolised in the image of the Caduceus.

      The Caduceus is an ancient symbol, that is used today by various modern day medical and pharmaceutical organisations. It represents the energy and flight of the Soul. The principle at play here is the struggle and interplay of dual opposites. This occurs at many different levels and may be likened to the intertwined dual spirals of the DNA double-helix. Mapping and measuring the energy, using numerical symbols and simple mathematics, is the key to understanding life. This is Numerology.

      Chapter 2 - Keeping it Simple

      The challenge is to keep it simple. There are things I want to say and get across, but then I know that if I get too deep, then I chance losing you - the person I want to get across to. There are those who just want a simple way to calculate and interpret their Numerology and move on. There are other readers of Numerology who want depth and understanding.

      For this reason, I am presenting this book in several parts. Part I introduces you to Ego Purpose Numerology and gives clear direction for you, to easily calculate and understand the Numerology of your name, using the principles of Ego Purpose Numerology. Part II develops the model of Marilyn Monroe, showing how the principles of Part I are applied. Part III explains the differences between Ego Purpose Numerology and the traditional system of the Numerology of names. Further insight is also provided, into the themes and meanings of the Paths.

      I urge you to enjoy Part I, then take your time to understand Part II and then, in Part III embrace the changes and the principles that I am putting forward, as Soul Purpose & Ego Purpose Numerology.

      Chapter 3 - Calculating & Interpreting the Numerology of a Name

      Using the essential values and meanings of the consonants of a Name, we are able to calculate and interpret:

      • the path number of the name, known as the Ego Purpose;

      • the Gifts and Talents in the name;

      • the Lines of Energy in the name;

      • the Personality Profile code for the name.

      Vowels are treated differently. They will be discussed later in the section relating to the Hidden Resolve.

      The table below gives the values to be used with the consonants of a name:

      For some, this table is challenging because they may be familiar with the Pythagorean numbering, found in most works of Numerology. My reasoning, for this change in value for the consonants, is provided in Part III.

      The first thing to be calculated in any analysis is the Soul Purpose of the Birth Date. This is the path that the soul has incarnated upon. It is the dominant or ruling number in life. If you fail to achieve this purpose in this incarnation, then you have missed the opportunity presented. Your soul will return in the next incarnation, on the same path level, to do it all again.

      The second thing to be calculated is the value of the full birth name. Names also have a path number and a purpose, but this is only related to the ego in this incarnation.

      The energy of the Birth Date is measured using the digits 0 to 9, that make up the day, month and year when you were born. The energy of the Birth Name is measured using the values (the digits 0 to 9) of the letters (only consonants) that make up the name, that you are given at birth. These two very different energies come together in an interplay, like the caduceus, that produces the circumstances that are conducive to your soul’s development.

      Other names may also be calculated and compared, to show divergence from the true path. The Birth Name remains constant through life, the same as the Birth date. Other names may build up influence, depending upon the energy given to them for the period of time they are in use.

      The example I will be using throughout this discussion, uses the various names associated with the incarnation of the soul known as Marilyn Monroe. The name Marilyn Monroe is a very good example of the influence of a name, other than a birth name. This name is still exerting influence many years after her death. Marilyn was born on the 1st June 1926, with the birth name Norma Jeane Mortenson. She didn't use this name for very long before taking on the name Norma Jeane Baker. This transition from birth name to alternate name, eventually to the name Marilyn Monroe, for which she is most famously known, is an interesting analysis.

      Chapter 4 - Calculating the Path Number

      The first step in calculating the Path Number, for either a birth date or a birth name, is to add together the values of the elements, to provide what I call a Calibration Number. Similar to the concept of a speedometer dial in your car, the calibration number represents the outcome of a formula that uses the count of the cycles of the wheels, together with the measurement of the size of the wheels, and then represents them with a number, which is the speed the vehicle is travelling.

      Once you have a Calibration Number, the second step is to determine the number of
