    Thursday: Be thankful for rain and the water in our life.

    This book is dedicated to all of humanity with a prayer of hope for world peace and understanding between all faiths and peoples of the world.  May love prevail to lift us all up to a place where there is no need to distress each other with greed and violence.  There is a better way to live our lives with hope in our hearts. For me it has become important to see beyond the differences of human minds and seek a common ground.

    I firmly believe that every human being is in search of meaning and truth in their lives and to know God in their hearts. To be fully human we need a spiritual practice that restores truth and love in our lives and connects us to the consciousness of creation which is innate in us all. I seek to remind humanity of the ancient wisdom of the Essenes. The Essenes are the source of all the spiritual traditions on Earth and their wisdom is timeless and needed today more than ever.  We can see their influence in Buddhism, Celtism, Taoism, as well as Christianity.  The word Essene  is primarily a state of being and consciousness which encourages humanity to  develop an intelligence and a knowing to enhance their lives. It is a living path, which allows each individual to find peace and reverence within themselves, the Earthly Mother and the Heavenly Father.

    This knowledge has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have been guided just recently to write this information into a simple form for easy use by interested persons.  The small worn personal notebook I wrote many years ago has served me well but I felt the need to provide space for journaling and adding individual insights such as prayers and poems and perhaps pictures. I hope that this guide may stimulate interest in the Divine and bring mankind back to their beginnings in a way that will heal themselves and the planet. I don’t know why I have always been drawn to the ancient Essenes and their way of life or how I first heard about them.  Probably through my love of books and the seeking of knowledge which has been a constant in my life from an early age.  Possibly also because of my love of nature and a simpler way of life.  Perhaps I once lived this lifestyle.....  It would have suited me well.

    The modes of experiencing the sacred are many and varied;  from new age thoughts to traditional dogma.  I hope to track a middle path which provides empowerment and ritual tempered with hope and faith.

    The Essenes have touched my heart with their wisdom, which is just as relevant for mankind today as it was in ancient times. The light of the Essene tradition can continue to be upheld in this modern age by those concerned for light, love and wisdom. This knowledge needs to be shared, pondered on and used to help heal our Earthly Mother, and re-connect with our Heavenly father. 

    I dedicate this book to those seekers of truth who would wish to heal this planet, promote peace on earth and find personal peace with their Creator and themselves.

    I was guided to write these words during the time our family helped care for William Joseph Ross in the last year of his life. Bill was once my husband and is the father of our three wonderful adult children, Christina Marie (Chrissie), William Paul (Billy) and Kathryn Therese (Kate). This special time in our lives made us all more thoughtful and thankful for the gifts we have.  It became important for me to share these words in the hope of touching other hearts with a reminder of the preciousness of our days and the fact that these days are numbered.

    The Essenes were a Judaic mystical group who lived around two millennia ago.
