Journey to Charis Lazette
()
About this ebook
Many people talk about life being a journey, but no journey can begin until you are willing to declare aloud where it is you want to end up. The goal is not learning who you are, but acknowledging God in your waywardness and allowing Him to transform you into the new creation you were meant to be in Christ. By seeking God, in whose image you were created, you’ll find that you are because He is. Your journey is a walk of faith. It is a physical manifestation of your thoughts and declarations about your identity and your destiny.
Charis Lazette encourages and inspires readers to begin a faith journey with practical steps outlined from her own walk of faith in Journey to Charis Lazette. She pointedly shares her own story so you can discover
* Transformation through celebratory prayers
* Victory over inhibiting fears
* Purpose in your spoken and written words
* Hope by surrendering to and embracing God’s will
* Peace in knowing God is present in your difficult situations
Journey to Charis Lazette will encourage you to journal your own thoughts and declarations for your personal faith journey as you follow the author on hers. Charis Lazette states, “The first step on your journey should be acknowledging where you are and how your present situation is impeding your progress to where you are going. When I started my journey, I had to move on. I had to leave where I was in that instant and never venture back.”
If you are ready to move forward in your faith journey, Journey to Charis Lazette will motivate you with real talk, honest prayers, and original songs. There’s no promise of fairy-tale endings, just straightforward instruction for trusting God to be your Navigator and depending on Him for provision and direction for your journey.

Sunset
To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.
— Ecclesiastes 3:1
Every right place, every right time, every right situation will come to us through the glory of God. Every entry on our resumé, every step in the right direction, every contact we need in life will come to us through the glory of God. Every friendship, every pat on the back, every bit of inspiration and motivation we need will come to us through the glory of God. I’m not sure where you are in life right now, but if you picked up this book, it was not a mistake. God doesn’t make mistakes. We make mistakes. We underestimate the power of God. We place limitations on His ability by assigning Him characteristics of this world. God doesn’t immediately get angry with us. He gives all of us a chance to repent. His grace and mercy continuously put us on the path of redemption. God doesn’t punish us as we deserve. He provides us with opportunities to depend on Him in our times of trouble. He provides opportunities for us to worship Him, knowing He saved us from our trial. He will continue to act on our behalf when we face our demons. God would rather give generously than take from us to teach us the lessons we must learn. He restores and protects us to teach us that His love is able to conquer all things. God is. He provides every breath we inhale and every breath we exhale. God is the maker and ruler of us all, and God is our beginning and our end. We were made in His image, and we were made to be champions. We were made to receive gold medals. We were made to be victors.
I made a decision one day to learn who I was. I looked to those around me to help define me, but something still didn’t feel right. I looked to the degrees on my wall and I looked to my job, my house, my car, my kids, and still I didn’t get a true sense of myself. Then I looked to my Father, and the essence of my being was revealed to me. God gave me two beautiful women, my mother and my older sister, to serve as examples in my life. These women embody the essence of Christ. They are giving, loving, and empathetic. They are ambassadors of Christ. I thank God each day for allowing me to be in their presence so I may learn how to live a holy life, how to live according to their example. They are my Charis Lazettes and my purpose is to be the Charis Lazette to someone else, someone who needs an example of how to live in accordance with God’s will.
We are all made in His image. We are the children of the author of love. By seeking God when in search of yourself, you learn that you are because He is. In every aspect of your life, God must have a place. Make room for Him. You will begin to feel whole. You will feel complete.
Acknowledging God and our own waywardness is our starting point. The challenge is no longer learning who we are. The challenge is loving the new creation He has transformed us into and being who we are meant to be in Christ. To get to where we want to be, we have to let go. But to let go, we have to have faith, knowing we will still stand. It doesn’t matter what weapon is formed against us, our purpose will be clear, our goal in sight. We must embrace God’s will and let Him order our steps.
The Holy Spirit told me to open my mouth and He would speak. I obeyed God’s will, and that is when my journey began.
Acknowledge Your Intent to Change
What is it that separates your dream from your reality? It is the fact that you wake up and hold yourself accountable to that thing you desire most in your heart.
What is it that causes you to be excited in spite of yourself? What makes you want to do better, to be better? What is the one thing you want to be remembered for when everything else fades away?
For me, the answer is simple. More than anything in this world I want to show myself as a lover of Jesus Christ. I want to shine as an example for what God can do with a wretched sinner. I want to show God’s ability to rehabilitate. I want to show God’s ability to communicate across railroad tracks and south sides and north sides. I want to show it is possible to love yourself without holding back
