About this ebook

Houston, Texas--Cowboy boots, baseball and journeys to the stars . . . right?
Wrong. Because Houston is also home to Jabril Karim, one of the eight powerful Vampire Lords who control all of North America. And as Private Investigator Cynthia Leighton will soon discover, not all Vampire Lords are created equal.
Jabril is the face of evil in the new world, a vampire who values no life but his own, who enslaves those he desires, steals whatever he covets, and destroys anyone who stands in his way.
Running from L.A. and its seductive Vampire Lord, Raphael, Cyn sees the Houston job as a welcome refuge, a place to get away and heal her broken heart. But Texas will be no vacation. Cyn will confront a true enemy in Jabril, one who will go to any lengths to satisfy his lusts, enrich his coffers, and expand his power.
Fighting for the lives of two young sisters, Cyn's journey will take her through the streets of Houston and back to L.A., where the human police are determined to bring Raphael down for the murder of one of their own. But the danger doesn't end there.
Jabril has set his sights on Cyn, and he will stop at nothing to have her.

This one was better than the first one because of the tension between Cyn and Raphael. The story was very good too and very aciton packed. :)

Jabril is the second book of this series and a continuation of the first book, Raphael. There is also a twist as Jabril is the bad guy, the vampire Lord of the southern territories. He hires Cyn to find a missing girl, but also to irritate Raphael. Jabril doesn't think much of women in general, but he wants control of a fortune that belongs to two Texas girls. Mirabelle, the older one, has already been turned and he has her money, but Jabril wants to also turn Liz when she reaches the age of eighteen so he can control the entire fortune. Liz has run away, not wanting to suffer the same fate as her sister.Cyn has her own ideas about Mirabelle and Liz and acts accordingly. It's a great story with a lot of twists and turns. My only complaint was that I wanted a little more Raphael.I like that this series is built around strong women along with the vampires. It makes sense that vampire lords need independent women as a counter to their own alpha tendencies. I'm sad to see the end of Cyn and Raphael's story, but I look forward to the next book in the series.

Jabril is the second installment in the Vampires in America series. I have recently become a new fan of this author. This story is a continuation of the first book, "Raphael", but there is more focus on Cyn than Raphael. From the beginning here, Raphael and Cyn haven't seen each other in weeks. Cyn goes to Texas on assignment for a vampire "Jabril", little does she know how cruel he is or how warped his fascination with her would be. I enjoyed seeing more character from Cyn and seeing her capabilities. We see a side of her more in depth than we did in "Raphael". We see how resourceful she is, and the courage she has against the worst odds. Jabril is a insane and psychotic vampire leader, and this book has a lot of focus on his obsession with Cyn and the two sisters she is trying to save from him. There is quite a level of suspense in this story, and the reunion of Raphael and Cyn is priceless. I enjoyed seeing their relationship progress further especially after the ending of the first one. Jabril is a fascinating and intense tale of sacrifice and love. Definitely can't wait to read more of this series. Thanks to ImaJinn books and Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this wonderful vampire romance that swept me away instantly!! A GEM OF PARANORMAL ROMANCE!!

Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Michelle L. Olson:The 2nd installment of D.B Reynolds's VAMPIRES IN AMERICA series did not disappoint. Picking up where Raphael left off with Cyn sorting through her feelings regarding Raphael, DB introduces an insidious villain who readers will absolutely love to hate and a mystery that will keep you turning pages like wildfire! In keeping with the first book, the action is uber intense, the dialogue witty and engaging, the characters lovable (or despised depending on the spectrum, the romance intense and steamy and the emotions real. The world building continues to amaze and while I was sad to see the book end, I was thrilled with the way it ended and couldn't wait to start reading the next book. VAMPIRES IN AMERICA has easily become one of my very favorite vampire series out there and I simply cannot get to the next book fast enough.LITERAL ADDICTION gives Jabril 4 1/2 Skulls and continues to recommend this series to everyone!

This is really Cyn and Raphael Part 2. I'm not used to the main character being a bad guy with no redeeming qualities. I enjoyed watching Cyn and Raphael finally get their HEA. There were a lot of other characters in here that were interesting, and I enjoyed hearing their POV.

The second book in the Vampires in America series keeps the reader on the edge of their seat.Private investigator Cynthia Leighton heads to Houston, Texas on a case to find a missing teen for another Vampire Lord, Jabril Karim. Cyn soon discovers that no all vampires are created equal and Jabril is the face of evil and makes a powerful enemy when she decides to fight for the lives of the two young sisters. The fight takes her back to L. A. where the police are determined to take Raphael down for the murders of several young girls. Not to mention, that now Jabril is determined to make not only the young teen his own, but Cyn as well. The fast paced and intriguing plot keeps the readers hopping with lots of action, suspense and romance. The story grabs the reader’s attention with vivid descriptions and compelling characters that keep the reader thoroughly entertained from beginning to end. The attraction between Raphael and Cyn continues to radiate from every page and the sex scenes are hot and steamy. The relationship has some rocky turmoil to overcome and the emotions and passion is easily related to, ensuring the reader gets caught up in their lives as they story progresses. The author has created a riveting world of vampires with unique elements and enthralling characters. The reader can’t help but become enamored with all of the characters because the author brings them all to life making it seem as if the reader feel as if they are part of their world and know them personally. The author paid attention to some small details that most of the time are overlooked which gives added depth to the store making the story as well as the characters believable. I have added this series to my favorites list and am looking forward to reading more books by this author.
