    Inspired by “Living the Good Life” a L.A. couple moved to Ludlow, Vermont with a dream of leaving the rat race for burgeoning gardens, winters curled up next to cozy fires, white carpets of snow, glistening blue ice, mountain streams, summer storms, blazing autumn colors, and stone walls on a 51 acre homestead. Reality was less idyllic. Relying almost entirely on food they grew, building their own shelters, and providing their own heat was hard work.

    Cam Montgomery, as Josh Jardin, wrote anecdotes about their new lives in their new world in a column for the Vermont Standard newspaper. This collection of stories details their triumphs and tribulations as they lived their lives on a mountain with goats, chickens, dogs, cats, and natures critters with dry and cynical wit.
