    PROTECTING THE ACHILLES HEEL.

Introducing the New Covenant Ministry and Apostolic Doctrine to the Body of Christ.

    Introductory Paragraphs

Yes, I'm telling you it's true. All you have to realise is that you have been given a measure of faith and all you have to do is to simply believe, name what you want, claim it and frame it and God will give it to you; whatever you ask. Take as example that one lady pastor; she wanted a Mercedes motor-vehicle and look, she received it! Do not forget to sow though; sow at every opportunity and see what you will receive...

Unfortunately many in the Body lost and is still losing; countless thousands in finances because of over zealousness in the sowing of their financial seed...and the preachers...well, they received the seed and therefore it is so much easier for them to believe...

The pastor diligently prepares the sermon for the next gathering of the Body; trusting God for the manifestation of the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit to follow or to proceed the sermon; of course, as the Spirit wills. Anointed for the task, he enters the building where the Body has gathered to hear what the Spirit has to say. The sermon finally completed; the pastor, as his custom is, asks if there are any newcomers in the service this morning. One nice looking couple smilingly raise their hands. The pastor welcomes them and then asks the man to close the service with prayer. The newcomer readily obliges and prays...We thank the sun god Ra. Unfortunately, nobody in the congregation responds and after the prayer has ended, the pastor meekly closes the service...The pastor did acknowledge in the evening service that the man who had prayed was at fault, but the damage had already been done...sadly, a little too late...

A wonderful fresh outpouring of the power of the Holy Ghost fills the Body. It spreads like wildfire and in most churches the joy of laughing in the Spirit is experienced. Crowds go enmasse to gatherings just to taste, to sample this new wave. Soon one hears the following: Did you hear those people barking in the 'Spirit'? and, Did you see those people crawling and sliding down the aisles hissing like snakes...isn't the spirit wonderful? Blind, blind guides and unfortunately less and less is heard about this wonderful fresh wave...

And there are many more such tragic stories and events happening in the Body of Christ today as we enter into a time in church history where God has started to do a radical, do we dare say, new thing. Why? The answer is straightforward; in all these instances, nobody was protecting the Achilles heel of the Body! You ask: Does the Body have an Achilles heel? The answer is a definite and unequivocal...yes!

We who are 'charismatics’ are at a crossroads. The charismatic renewal has reached a spiritual intersection in its history, and the decisions made by charismatic leadership, in the next five years will, I believe, forever determine our place in the annals of church history.(1) Mr McConnell

It is now 2014, what has happened since 1988 when Mr McConnell's words were printed...nothing. The 'charismatics' have run after signs and wonders...and mostly in Africa and in Toronto! They have now embraced ‘Christian mysticism’ and follow teachings of the ‘Emergent Church’ that all roads lead to God.

Dear reader; should we go into the recent history of the ‘so-called’ Florida Revival? All the hurt that has been done to the Body! Then there are men releasing the Kundalini spirit amongst the faithful…There is a wonderful ‘Godly couple’ doing wonderful work amongst the poorest of the poor in rubbish dumps all across Europe however; when the wife is under the ‘anointing’, it’s the Kundalini spirit that manifests! The same goes for a lovely young evangelist’s wife in Queensland Australia…

    D. R. McConnell expressed in 1988, that which is needed in our time today; the necessity of apostolic guidance and leadership. This guidance and leadership will enable us to protect the Achilles heel of the Body of Christ. There are those who claim to be Apostle’s, in the Apostolic Movement in Australia, but there is no real power…

What is this apostolic guidance and leadership?

Right from the outset we must emphatically state that the five-fold ministry is supposed to work together; and I say supposed because this is a rare phenomenon.

The term ‘five-fold ministry’ has been used in the Body since the early 1980’s. The writer uses it here to keep the understanding of the teaching and will later expound more.

The apostle is not the head or leader of the five. It is as the Spirit wills in that present part of the Body wherever it may be!

Eph 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers...

1Co 12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

‘First apostles’ doesn’t mean they are to lead the other four; it means they enter first into unknown territory!

    Introduction to the Achilles Heel

Where or what is this Achilles heel? may be your next question. The Achilles heel is this: All the areas where the Body of Christ can be hurt; is the Achilles heel! What exposes the Body of Christ to hurts?

    a) That which brings in false teaching, such as false teachers etc.

2Pe 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

    b) That which is false teaching, such as the baptism of babies and the date of Christ's birth.

    c) Sin and rebellion, as seen in the youth of today following plastic stars...

Gal 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envying's, murders, drunkenness, revelling's, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

    d) Lack of knowledge; not knowing what the Word teaches...

Hos 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge...

    e) Lack of spiritual wisdom as only given by God; only those led by the Spirit of God are sons of God!

Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

    f) Weak shepherds as Ezekiel 34 emphasises.

Eze 34:10 Thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be meat for them.

Note that because of the Shepherding Movement of the 1970’s, order in the Body had been adjudged as the Pastor being the Head of the Body even though under Christ. This has led to domination and a new type of denomination in the Charismatic Movement.

    g) Unrepentance, mostly to do with not realising what sin is...

1Jo 3:4 Whosoever committed sin transgressed also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

    h) Lack of proper discipleship; stems from lack of knowledge, wisdom and Holy Spirit guidance.

Mat 28:19-20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Charles F. Parham, 'the father of Pentecost', has this testimony: After he was called into the ministry; which he did not immediately enter into; he was healed from a terrible disease. The only parts of his body that were not healed at that particular time, was his ankles. Parham then vowed to quit college and enter into the ministry if God would heal his ankles. God did so and what followed was a tremendous ministry. Parham also had an 'Achilles Heel'. How fitting the illustration that it turned out to be his ankles! 1)

The Achilles heel becomes apparent when:

    a) The Body forgets to watch and pray,

    b) When boldness to take control of an unusual situation seems to be lacking,

    c) When the elders and deacons are unaware of what is happening in the spiritual realm,

    d) Where shepherds have no spiritual vision; no trust in God to operate in the gifts of the Spirit;

    e) When the Body isn't properly instructed in dealing with the wrong side of the spiritual realm,

    f) When the five-fold ministry is not active or partly active in a gathering of the saints,

    g) When false teachings abound,

In section, The Achilles Heel, we will deal with this important subject.

Throughout church history one can clearly see the Hand of God moving and doing 'new things' in the earth. For the sake of clarity and because it is now commonly referred to as such, we will refer to these things as moves of God. So it is observed that there is a new move of God in the Body of Christ today. Simply put; it is God inspiring those who are called by Him and not appointed
