From the Author:
For years, I have been organizing and holding events of various kinds. Some were for friends, some were for charities and community causes, and some were just for fun. There are secrets to creating the perfect event that I share in this book. If I had to name the top three, I would say: organization, communication and follow-through (yes I know you thought I would give you a third rhyming word but find-the-best-location-and-avoid-frustration was too long).
If you follow the steps outlined in this book, you will find that creating the perfect event is not as difficult as you thought. If your event involves charities and you need to talk to sponsors about donations, then you need to read Steps 11and 12 carefully.
Some of these steps may seem redundant and even silly, but once you have produced your first event, you will understand why they are included. You will be glad you followed them (or miserable that you ignored them).
bAnd lastly, have fun. You are creating an occasion for people to get together to celebrate, honor or otherwise enjoy themselves. So enjoy yourself too! You can be organized and still have a good time.

21 Tips for Planning and Hosting The Perfect Event - Diana M. Evans
INTRODUCTION
For years I have been organizing and holding events of various kinds. Some were for friends, some were for charities and community causes, and some were just for fun. There are secrets to creating the perfect event that I share in this book. If I had to name the top three, I would say: organization, communication and follow-through. (yes I know you thought I would give you a third rhyming word but find-the-best-location-and-avoid-frustration was too long)
If you follow the steps outlined in this book, you will find that creating the perfect event is not as difficult as you thought. If your event involves charities and you need to talk to sponsors about donations, then you need to read Steps 11and 12 carefully.
Some of these steps may seem redundant and even silly, but once you have produced your first event, you will understand why they are included. You will be glad you followed them (or miserable that you ignored them).
And lastly, have fun. You are generally creating an occasion for people to get together to celebrate, honor or otherwise enjoy themselves. So enjoy yourself too! You can be organized and still have a good time.
1 - MEET WITH THE CLIENT
When you actually get (gasp) your first client, you will need to schedule a face-to-face meeting with them. The more prepared you are for the initial meeting, the easier it will be to draw the needed information from your client as to their needs and desires.
I know it probably looks silly to say this, but you cannot imagine how many people will actually start planning an event without meeting with the client and finding out what they want. Since the event is for the client, and since they are most likely paying you to create and host it, you probably should consider actually getting their thoughts and opinions. And the best way to do that is to sit down with them, take copious notes, and ask a lot of questions.
Every event should have a theme. Generally the client has a theme already planned; if not, it is part of your job to find one they will like and enjoy. Questions you should ask:
What type of event is this? (Charity fundraiser? Community benefit? Political event? Wedding or other type of family/friends event?)
When is the date? Is it a firm date or is there wiggle room?
Is
