Penguins, Penguins, Everywhere, by Bob Barner, left me with mixed feelings after reading it. The main purpose of the book is to deliver factual information about penguins. I do like the language the author uses as it is clear and patterned. There is only one line of information on each page and every two lines rhyme, which makes it much more fun to read. For example, the author writes, “Some penguins live in icy places and some live in the heat.” On the next page he writes, “Their colors help them when they fish for fishy treats.” There was something I did not like about this book, however. While this nonfiction story is accurate, the information towards the end is not very clear and organized. The “Penguin Puzzler” page at the end has too much information on it and just seems too cluttered and consequently confusing.

This is a nonfiction book intended for primary readers. It is an informative story about different kinds of penguins and fun facts about them and how they live. The art work was awesome! I found it very informative and it made me want to learn more about these interesting animals. This is a good book to help young learners learn a few facts about penguins.
