The Smokin' "HOT" Bride of Christ - Rosemary Fisher

    Christ

    INTRODUCTION

IMAGINE FOR A MOMENT... we’re seated together at a royal wedding. The invitations have been sent, all the preparations have been made, the guests have arrived, the music is playing, the flowers are spectacular ~ the sanctuary is decked for a king and queen. The bridegroom and his attendants take their places at the front.

The first strains of the wedding march begin to sound. We all rise.

It’s hard to see from where we are standing off to the side. Finally, we’re able to catch a glimpse of the Bride holding the arm of her father as she begins to move down the aisle toward her Bridegroom.

We crane our necks trying to take it all in. As she gets closer, we realize something is wrong! It can’t be – but yes...her veil is torn, and it’s askew on her head. She gets closer, and we see that is not just her veil – her hair is matted and in disarray. She looks like she just got out of bed. And her face – it’s filthy; she has no makeup on.

As she walks by the row where we’re standing, we get a closer look at her dress. It’s unbelievable. Her gown is disheveled and wrinkled from top to bottom. It looks like it’s been stuffed in a drawer for weeks. Not only that – the once-white dress is covered with an awful assortment of dark stains.

Have you ever seen such a sight? How can this be?

Then we see the saddest sight of all, as she approaches her Bridegroom. It’s the look of profound sorrow in his eyes as he realizes that his Bride - the one he loves with all his heart – didn’t care enough to get ready for the wedding......i

The groom? Jesus Christ. The Bride? That’s the Smokin’ HOT Bride of Christ. She has her dress stuffed in her dresser drawer, not realizing that any moment Jesus will return. It is time as the Bride of Christ we are not found Smokin’ ‘HOT but prepared and Rapture Ready" for His glorious return.

My prayer is that as your read this book the Holy Spirit will encourage you to begin preparation and propel you into a deeper and passionate love affair with Jesus.

Let us rejoice and be glad

    and give him glory!

For the wedding of the Lamb has come,

and his bride has made herself ready.

    Revelation 19:7 (NIV)

    Chapter 1

    SMOKIN’ HOT OR NOT?

Yes, each of us will give a personal account to God.

    Romans 14:12 (NLT)

This book was written to sound an alarm to address a crucial message that is often feared, or ignored. The day is coming when we will give a personal account to God for our lives. As His Bride, we must begin preparing ourselves NOW for eternity before it is too late! Whether we like it or not, each of us will give a personal account before Christ on how we used our gifts, talents, resources, and time for building His kingdom here on earth.

Does the thought of standing before Jesus bring a sense of confidence laced in excitement because you have been focused on eternity? Or does that thought bring feelings of fear, anxiety, or regret because you have been more focused on earthly things?

Don’t zone out now and put the book down because the enemy has given you a sense of FEAR. Fear on a matter such as this, is not coming from God, but the enemy of your soul (Satan) who truly wants to see you stand before Christ smelling like smoke, naked, and ashamed. Satan wants you to have nothing to give back to the very One who sacrificed everything because of His undying love for you. Wouldn’t that be tragic? Would that be devastating enough for you to allow a good healthy heart check-up from the Great Physician to be sure that you not only live a productive, joyful, and abundant life here on earth, but also hear those words we all long to hear on the Day of Judgment:

His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

    Matthew 25:21 (NKJV)

Just because we choose to ignore something, does not mean it will not happen. I was terrified of the thought of having to stand before Jesus and watch everything I ever did or said and even the motives of my heart go through the fire of His testing. It felt safer to stay in denial and hope for the best because when I thought about final testing, all I saw was lots of smoke!

I was no longer terrified when I traded in my fear for faith realizing that God will always give us everything we need to be successful and ready. The choice was mine to be prepared or not, just like it is for you.

And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.

    1 John 4:17 (NLT)

This Scripture gives us the how to or the answer key on what we need to do in order to stand in confidence before Christ and pass our final exam. The answer is ~ Grow in God’s love and let that love enable you to live like Jesus here in the world!

Living like Jesus is a process that requires Holy Spirit power to change and our willingness to learn from our mistakes. What is exciting to know is regardless of how much or little we have messed up, we can make a decision right now to live like Jesus, so we can stand confident before Him at our final exam. It is never too late as long as we are willing and still breathing.

This book was written to encourage, teach, and equip the Bride of Christ to take personal inventory of our lives and make the necessary changes needed to exchange possible regrets for many future rewards.

Although we can flunk out of school by choosing not to study or get the help we need to improve our grades, we can never flunk out of God’s kingdom once we have been born again and receive the Holy Spirit. According to Scripture there will be those who will receive rewards by becoming Rapture Ready, and there will be those who will suffer great loss, receive no rewards, and barely escape the wall of flames. This is the Smokin’ HOT Bride.

But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved, but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames.

    1 Corinthians 3:15 (NLT)

I have nicknamed this the saved by the seat of your pants Christian (if pants even would survive the heat of the fire). Notice that
