About this ebook
Olivia Lockhart
Cedar Cove, Washington
Dear Reader,
If you've been to Cedar Cove before, you've probably met my friend Grace Sherman. You can usually find her at homeshe lives at 204 Rosewood Laneor at the public library, where she works. Like me, she grew up in this town and she's raised two daughters here. But did you hear that about six months ago, her husband disappeared? Just disappeared. Where's Dan? Why did he go? Who's he with? Will Grace ever find out?
I hope that all of us, her family and friends, are bringing her comfort during this difficult time. Comfort and a sense of shelter. I'm continually reminded that life can and does go on. For instance, everyone's been discussing weddings and babies lately. Justine, my daughter, rather impulsively got married a little while ago. Grace's daughter Kelly recently had a baby. Unfortunately, she refuses to accept that Dan might not return to see his first grandchild. Grace's older daughter, Maryellen, is more realistic. Grace thinks she's seeing a new man but for some reason won't say who it is.
Then there's Jack Griffin, our local newspaper editor, the man I've been seeing. And well, I have lots to tell you. Come on over and we'll talk!

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5In this book Grace Sherman Finally found out what happen to Dan. Grace develops a friendship with Cliff Harding. Maryellen feels that all men are not to be trusted and avoided them. Until she meet Jon Bowman. One night with Jon she thought that it was a misstake then she found out that she was going to have a baby. She was not going to let Jon know about her pregnacy. Olivia romance with Jack Griffin started to get strained with the help with her ex-husband Stan that wants Olivia back. Olivia's daughter Justine and Seth (son-in-law) had bought The Captain's Galley and getting ready for their frist child. Then intorduce to Rosie and Zach Cox. I like Cedar Cove, Washington and want to hear more about the town and the people.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The second book in Macomber's Cedar Cove series, this one continued where the first book left off. I was glad to know what finally happened to Dan, although it was put off until the end of the book, and was honestly a little anticlimactic and a bit unbelievable. I really like Mary-Ellen's storyline, but was a bit put off by Justine's sudden change from not wanting marriage or children to suddenly getting married and immediately having Seth's baby. It seems a bit contrived to think that someone would have the profound of a shift in ideals in real life. Zach and Rosemary were interesting, but not so much as the other characters. I really disliked Rosemary and her attitude. She is the type of women who drives their husband's right into the arms of their personal assistant. It should be interesting to see how their relationship progresses in the next book.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Picked this book up after reading the first, eager to find out more about the disappearance of Grace's husband. So happy that Justine is not with Warren. I liked Justine a lot more after she left him, than I did in the first book. I loved Cliff! He was so great to Grace. Was nice to hear more about Jack and Olivia, although I really didn't like Stan's character. We also met the Cox's when Olivia hands down an unusual custody agreement.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5204 Rosewood Lane deals with judge Olivia again. This time the main people are of course Olivia and Jack and their dating woes. It has more to do with Jacks son Erick. Grace is dipping her foot into romance. Justine and her new husband Seth are progressing in their marriage. Also a parenting couple is thrown in that is sure to resurface later. Grace's daughter Maryellen is also more involved in this book. I can already tell that Olivia and her close family and friends are going to be in every book with a new couple thrown in in each book. Series like these make it hard for me to jolt down just the bare minimial so that I don't actually remember the ending but I kind of know what the book is about. I'm already looking for the next one in this amusing series.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Picking up several of the loose threads left at the end of "16 Lighthouse Road", "204 Rosewood Lane" is the second book in Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove series. The book focuses mostly on Grace Sherman as she copes with the disappearance of her husband Dan and finally learns what happened to him. The book also deals with Grace's best friend, Olivia, and her ongoing romance with newspaperman Jack Griffin, plus some surprising news from her ex-husband, Stan, and distressing news about her mother, Charlotte. All of their children have relationship issues and there are a few unexpected pregnancies along the way. Finally, the book features Zach and Rosemary Cox and their marriage woes. "204 Rosewood Lane" is another one of Macomber's nice, cozy stories. It was nice to have closure to the disappearance of Dan Sherman, even if Macomber did seem to have different plans for him originally and had to backtrack, not always successfully, to cover up some plot lines initiated in the first book that didn't fit in this book. Macomber seems to lose track of some of her characters; Charlotte is absent for much of the book, appears long enough to get some devastating news about her health, and then pretty much disappears again, seemingly making a miraculous recovery. Still, despite the flaws, Macomber is a gifted storyteller, who creates characters readers care about, enough so that they will want to buy the next book in the series, if only to find out who the mysterious stranger was who died while staying at Bob and Peggy Beldon's bed-and-breakfast. And to find out if Olivia is in love with Jack or still in love with her ex, Stan. And if the Cox's marriage can be saved. You get the idea! "204 Rosewood Lane" is a good, cozy read.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This is a warm, romantic story where everyone living in the same community, knows everybody, and they all experience the ups and downs of happines and tragedy. Just the sort of book to while away a few hours.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is the second book in the Cedar Cove series. This time we learn more about the judge (Olivia) from the first book and why she made the decision that she did with the young couple. We also meet a more seasoned couple who are considering divorce as well and claim to only have their children's interest at heart. Olivia's unconventional ruling of joint custody with the parents moving between two houses instead of the children requires them to rethink their current situation. We also learn more about Olivia's daughter and son-in-law, along with Olivia's best friend (Grace) and we find out what happened to Grace's husband who disappeared in the first book.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5In the next installment of the Cedar Cove series, we are introduced to Rosie and Zach Cox. Zach is extremely frustrated that Rosie spends more time volunteering and barely has time to cook a meal. Dinners at their house are usually microwaved or take-out. Marital stress takes it toll and the couple decides to separate.Meanwhile, Grace Sherman has divorced her husband, who disappeared in 16 Lighthouse Road. She’s convinced he left her and her daughters for another woman, so she decides it’s time for her to move on as well. She develops a friendship with Cliff Harding and entertains the idea of moving their relationship forward. Grace’s daughter, Maryellen, has sworn off men as a result to a short-lived marriage. Maryellen feels men are not to be trusted and spends her time avoiding the dating scene and engrossed in her work. That is until she meets Jon.Olivia Lockhart, her mother Charlotte, daughter Justine and boyfriend Jack are also back in this book. 204 Rosewood Lane continues to interweave the lives of the residents of Cedar Cove. As more characters are introduced, readers cannot help but to feel as though they are catching up with old friends.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is a cute series but i recommend you read the books close together as the books rely heavily upon the last one. The characters are great and very loveable. Makes you feel like you live there in cedar cove with them. A great light read with some mystery and romance intermingled together for a delightful entertaining read.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The lives and loves of several woman in this small town. The end is not the end, but will continue in the next book.
