About this ebook

Working for her heart-stoppingly handsome boss shouldn't have been so hard, but could Callie Stevens let her attraction get the best of her when he asked her to have his baby? Of course, love wouldn't enter into the arrangement. Or would it?

A busy CEO, Grant wanted a family, but he'd been devastated by love. Sensible Callie was exactly what he was looking for. Yet as they prepared for their little bundle of joy, Grant's control slipped. Maybe Callie was exactly what his heart needed.

Oh my lord, this dude is a basket case. Absolutely BONKERS. It is simply unfathomable to me that at no point did anyone say to him “you, my friend, need therapy/grief counseling.” He is 100 percent looney tunes, and then she has to act as some sort of weird, unlicensed, unwanted forced on him therapist and it is just so unrealistic and unreasonable. And when he is mean/ neglectful to the little girl (constantly) out of guilt because he was a bad parent to his own little girl, I just felt like someone needed to tell him to get over himself because he was a prize a$$. It’s hard to like someone who neglects a baby—let alone TWO babies.

And speaking of unrealistic, this whole virgin heroine thing has gone off the rails. She is a WIDOW, but we still have to preserve that perfect innocence somehow, so even though she was married, for absolutely no reason that she knew or understood, her husband just never wanted to sleep with her. He did not marry her for money or anything like that. He adored her in a creepy way and was super controlling of her, but he just didn’t want the seggs. So she is a nearly thirty year old virgin just so the hero can be her first. Which, frankly, was really stupid.

Three stars because I skimmed only a very little because this train wreck was fairly interesting. I liked the best friend and her daughter. And I liked that he was never violent, deliberately hurtful to her or rapey- which it is sad to have to actually mention that, but it isn’t something you can count on with this publisher.
