About this ebook

She'd barely escaped with her life from a savage killer. Now Lyssa Reinholt Lupe faced a different threat--her mercurial husband. DEA agent Alex Lupe had disappeared without a word months ago--now he had mysteriously reappeared to protect her. Lyssa couldn't deny the magnetic pull Alex still had on her senses, but could she trust this sensual stranger who was her husband?

Alex had thought leaving Lyssa would keep her safe. But only he could stand between her and this killer. Protecting Lyssa was his top priority, even if it meant blowing his cover and revealing the haunting secret that might drive the woman he loved away forever--his ability to shape-shift into a wolf...

This was a fun romp of a werewolf novel, part of a series written by Karen Whiddon it can be read as a seperate story though you do lose some of the background. Lyssa Reinholt Lupe is being stalked by a killer who has started worrying FBI and police with the ferocity of his attacks. He appears to have a big dog who is savaging his victims, and he's taking souvenirs. Her husband DEA agent Alex Lupe has returned after an abscence and he knows more than he's letting on. He's a werewolf too and will she come to terms with this or will she run? And will they be able to stop the killer before he claims Lyssa as a victim.

This is the second story in the series which can be all stand alones and I enjoyed this one far more than the first. Lots more action mixed in with the talking, thoughts and emotions. I will say I’d been curious about the hero from the quick meeting we have of him in the first book, so that started me off on a good foot. The way they think and act, especially in the beginning did not go in a predictable manner which was interesting. I liked it. There were several things as far as the way things were handled on the official cop end of things which kind of red flagged in my head, but over all I was able to ignore whether they were handled correctly or not and just enjoy.
