(Spoiler alert!) This could have been a completely different story had Cara just contacted the Brunellesci family upon the death of Lia and a romance ensued between her and Zandro. She committed a crime entering Australia with a fraudulent identity and author didn’t give any thought on how that legal problem would get resolved no matter how powerful the Brunellesci’s might be. Maybe in a third world country but in Australia?
