      In many ways, a very fluffy story. Time travel, with a built-in limitation; easy cultural assimilation when it should have been much more of a clash (a man from the 1890s is not going to be easy with a woman from the 1990s - especially a single mother making a living for herself!). The solution to the dilemma of the time paradox was utterly obvious from the original story about Zach - took them three-quarters of the book and several crises to see it. Like that. On the other hand, the characters and characterization were very true, their reactions to each other's needs were sensible....like The Outlaw Bride, if you overlook the basic unlikelihood of the root concept, there's a pretty good story there. I like Shayne.
