Author

Julia James

Mills & Boon novels were Julia James’ first “grown up” books she read as a teenager, and she's been reading them ever since. She adores the Mediterranean and the English countryside in all its seasons, and is fascinated by all things historical, from castles to cottages. In between writing she enjoys walking, gardening, needlework and baking “extremely gooey chocolate cakes” and trying to stay fit! Julia lives in England with her family.

The Hero's character could have little more depth, close to reality.

I think I like the manga version better than the original. I still enjoyed reading it though.

Loved the ending...the bimbo lady turned out to be smarter than the hero. Unbelievable for a rich guy to hook up with a “waitress” and then to give up his lifestyle for love.

Fun twist. Some people are more academic than others. Very understandable on her need to blank out pain in her life.

Liked book a lot but was always tempted to change some of the premises. For example, the heroine knowing absolutely nothing about politics, art, the world? She's a doctor for God's sake, living in a college town? Politics rule in college. To get through college you have to take other electives. And what in the heck did she do all day while the hero was at work? She could have been visiting other docs in her field at other colleges, spending time at libraries, visiting points of interest in those fab places. It sounds like she sat around reading fashion mags. Writing that drives the characters into inconsistent behavior drives me crazy. But...this was poignant.
