About this ebook

Damien Wynter was as handsome and arrogant as sin. Heiress Charlotte didn't need his dark, primitive sensuality in her life, until the man she'd planned to marry disappointed her, and Damien offered a challenge: let him wed her and get her pregnant!

It was all about winning to Damien, but Charlotte wanted a baby, and if surrendering to him meant she could win, too-- why not accept his scandalous offer?

I like a man who knows what he wants and sets about getting it with patience and seduction and not the typical "I'm going to pull on your hair until you notice me" attitude that these harlequin candy romance contain. And it's an added bonus that the h knows the words I don't think so!

Note to self. Do not reread this. Apparently, I had completely forgotten that I read this a year ago. It was so unmemorable that I was a good 30 percent in before it rang a bell. Then I remembered how much I disliked both characters, whose primary character trait appears to be “born to extreme wealth and I get what I want” and “born to extreme wealth, hella judgmental against those not and want a baby so I feel loved”. The female MC is “settling” for a man of not great wealth because she feels her biological clock ticking and thinks only rich guys are workaholics. She dumps said middle class guy two weeks before the wedding because she feels he enjoys the idea of her having money and he feels like she doesn’t trust him when she insists on a prenup. The author keeps hammering ye olde eugenics “blood will out” nonsense. The upper crust clearly are just superior in every way. Then she uses the wedding she had planned with the first guy to marry the second guy AND the dad made a point to vilify the first guy in the press to avoid scandal. The woman jilted a guy then wore the exact same dress to marry another guy two weeks later and they don’t think it’s scandalous? It is not only scandalous, it shows absolute lack of character. Humiliating the dude because he didn’t want to sign a prenup equals what a bitch! Damien has zero character for going after an engaged woman. She shows lack of character in...well...EVERYTHING. Then...THEN, the author throws in a surprise miscarriage as a cheap means to forward the romance because we all know how losing a baby brings a couple together (HARD EYEROLL.) This book literally was disgraceful.

I like how this was not about blackmail or subjugation...but about a man who meets his soulmate and sets out to get her!

Charlotte was supposed to get married in two weeks, but now she was having doubts. Everyone kept telling her that Mark wasn't right for her. And then she meets Damien and he decides she's his soulmate....This book was ok, but I didn't have any problem putting it down. I did like the ending though. A quick and easy read for when you don't want to have to think too much.
