This female protagonist tried me severely. She was fragile, needy, pitiful and foolish all in one. If I were a man, she would have annoyed me stiff. Why do these females have to be so pathetic???!! I’m annoyed.

Here's the correct blurb that's currently missing:

"Miles Hunter had lived life on the edge. When
he proposed marriage to Chessie, she knew it
couldn't be because he loved her. They were
practically strangers! He simply needed a social hostess and someone to look after his beautiful home.

Chessie knew she owed Miles a great deal. When her family had been torn apart by financial scandal, he'd taken her in and given her a job and security. But was he now expecting her to repay him…in his bed?"

I enjoyed this boss/employee romance even though it didn't contain loads of angst or passion. Heroine worked and lived in hero's home (and her former home) as his secretary-cum-housekeeper. The two fell in love after months of working together, but didn't realize the other felt the same. Hero never made any moves on the heroine until he offered of a MOC with the potential to move into "real" territory. His ambiguity, past history, and circumstantial evidence were enough to make heroine misunderstand his intentions towards her.

Heroine's old boyfriend made an appearance, but she only had eyes for the hero. The title is misleading. The h and H didn't marry in the present timeline although they planned to by the book's end.
