I thought this story was kind of awesome. It is very dark romance, not lighthearted or sweet at all. Humanity has been corrupted by a series of technology-based viruses that have altered them in stages. The second stage creates a hive mentality and also makes them sexually compulsive and irresistible. Rider is unique in that he was able to shed the control of the hive, but he retained the sexual compulsion. Sutton tries to resist but can't in the end. So it is a romance complicated by a lot if factors, but it is very hot anyway. Neither of them know how much of what happens between them is affected by the virus, but that kind of adds interest to me. I wouldnt say I felt the happily ever after, but I thought the premise was intriguing and the way the bond formed was interesting to read.

Bitter Harvest is a great story, flirty, sexy and fun. Rider is pretty much your poster boy for Playboy. He is sexy and irresistible, and knows it. Sutton is a Lieutenant is serious and focused. When the two meet, sparks fly. This story is set in an apocalyptic world where a manmade virus is infecting people and turning them basically into human machines. Sutton lives in a human community of uninfected people that is, as far as they know, one of the last human communities around. Their goal is to protect themselves from the infected for as long as they can. The evolving relationship between Rider and Sutton was fun, and the sexual tension made the story fun to read, though at the end I was still confused by the whole 'cure' thing. I wish that would have been explained better.
