About this ebook

Dr. Ethan Walker arrives on the remote Scottish island of Glenmore to spend one summer--and one summer only--as a temporary doctor at the island's surgery. He is almost immediately attracted to nurse Kyla MacNeil, the heart of the island community. Ethan can't reveal his real reason for being on the island, and although his head tells him he should stay away from Kyla, he is unable to resist their burning attraction.

As the long summer days begin to fade, Ethan starts to wonder whether he can walk away from the woman and the tranquil island, which have captured his heart....

I recently attended a fundraiser for a group at our local college. They were having a book sale to raise money, and so I was there with my husband and he saw a group of these medical romances published by Harlequin/Mills and Boon. He asked me if these books were like reading "Grey's Anatomy". I laughed, but I honestly didn't have a clue. So, I picked up some of them out of curiousity. I picked this one out as my first Medical Romance because I love Scottish locales and I liked the cover. This book was published in 2007, written by Sarah Morgan, and is 184 pages long.Ethan Walker has taken a summer job as a GP on the island of Glenmore. The first person he meets is Kyla, the nurse at the clinic and also the local doctor's sister. They are attracted to each other at first sight. But, Ethan is a secretive, private, independent man with a hidden agenda. He is hiding the real reason he took this particular job.As he settles in at the busy clinic, he finds it very hard to fight his attraction to Kyla. As guarded as Ethan is, Kyla is as open. She loves the island, the residents and her family, even though they stick their noses in her business and gossip and offer advice even though you didn't ask for it.Kyla and Ethan clash even though they want each other. Kyla falls in love with Ethan even though she knows she's headed for heartbreak. But, when she discovers Ethan's dark secret, will she still be able to love him? This is a short, light contemporary romance with a medical backdrop. I loved the author's contrasting H/h and the big secret was an real bombshell. I would have liked to have seen a more satisfactory conclusion for some of the secondary characters, but this could be a part of a series or something where we will get to read about Logan's HEA. ( I hope so) Overall, I thought this was a sweet story and am up for more medical romance novels and I will be looking for more books by Sarah Morgan. Oveall a B+
