    Compilation of 3 short poetry books written between 2001-2008. The cover photo of the Hawaiian Monk Seal was taken in 1982. I'm using it for the cover because the first poem in the compilation is called "The Music on Which Thoughts Dwell" and was inspired by this chance meeting when my boyfriend and I were going around the island of Maui on a motor scooter.

      THE MUSIC ON WHICH THOUGHTS DWELL

      One day, not very long ago,

      I sat by the sea with a seal.

      Please, I pleaded, I know it's a dream,

      But couldn't we share this meal?"

      His wise old eyes, so tired and wild,

      Searched the sea and the landing.

      But all the while, he was feeling inside

      My heart, for understanding.

      At last he decided there was no need,

      To fear a being so frail...so he

      Rolled this way, and then rolled that,

      And even, flopped his tail!

      Oh! what can we do, but listen and watch,

      And see what Time will tell.

      So until then, it all depends,

      On the music on which thoughts dwell.

      Now we hold the horizon close to the eye,

      And watch waves roll to the shore;

      By the warmth of the Sun, we're embraced as one,

      And feel heppily
