About this ebook
If you think it would be glamorous to be the Prince of Thieves, you have never met Lat, the current Prince of Thieves in Trilaria. His father, the King of Thieves, has already killed those of his predecessors that managed to survive the vigorous training required to be a guilded thief but were ultimately found undesirable, which is how Lat received his title. At twenty-one, Lat is the oldest surviving Prince of Thieves and has now been given a task by his father the king: Steal the dragon guarded Book of Shadows written by a mage gone thief who managed to add simple magic to the art of thievery. The book that is every thief’s dream and has taken countless lives. Of course the king would choose Lat to go fetch it for him. Knowing full well this could just be the King's way of ridding himself of the latest Prince of Thieves, Lat must first find the dragon in order to get the book that may prolong his life for a little while longer.

Chapter One
Tell me again where you are going?
Kierick asked in a mocking tone.
I have no idea where I am going,
Lat grumped as he packed his saddlebags in a rush. His room was small with only a tiny adjoining bathroom so every bit was crammed with clothes to match his gorgeous face and strong body. It was from these piles he was retrieving more solid, rugged gear.
Then…
Kierick was enjoying this far too much, Tell me again what it is you are after?
"You know very well dad wants me to get the Book of Shadows for him." Lat scowled as he looked at his piles of stuff. His face definitely was angry, but his eyes were sad and empty.
And your father wants this why?
he asked as he jumped on Lat’s bed to lie down. The quick movement displaced the saddlebags enough that they fell to the floor, spilling their contents everywhere. Grinning at the mess Kierick flicked his hands before placing them behind his head like a pillow and stretched out into a very relaxed pose.
Look, if you’re not going to help, why don’t you get out and find something useful to do?
Lat kicked the fallen bag angrily, which only scattered more of the contents about, including a rather fat purse that rolled under the bed. Seeing the increased mess but no the purse, Lat fell heavily to a sitting position on the bed so he could rest his head in his hands dismally as he scanned the disaster.
Oh come on,
Kierick rolled over to prop his head on his hand, I’m just trying to point out the hilarity of the situation for you.
Like I need help with that.
Lat snorted, dropped his hands and rolled his eyes, My father is sending me out to steal a dragon guarded book. I’d be rolling in laughter if it was anyone else!
he paused to wave his hand proudly in the air, But I don’t want to be a thief.
I know, I know,
Kierick rolled his eyes at the old argument. You just want to play your guitar so that all the ladies fall on you. Blah, blah, blah,
Lat fell on his back with a huff, ending up using Kierick’s boots as his pillow. Just because you want to be a musician, doesn’t mean you can’t follow in your father’s footsteps as well,
Kierick pointed out. Your dad acts like a simple carter in other lands,
he wiggled his foot to get Lat’s attention, You are far too good looking, too strong and too smart to ever be a simple carter,
he scoffed.
True,
Lat nodded to that last bit. The girls already swoon, but when I have my electric guitar… Ecstasy!
Maybe it’s a girl dragon and you can just talk the book out of her.
He chuckled, Stranger things eh?
Argh!
Lat sat back up and started smashing the scattered items back into his bags, recklessly, angrily, "What I need is a luck trinket, not a Book of Shadows!"
You know I found one of those the other day…
Kierick started.
Uh, huh…
he rolled his eyes, "Like that twist of horse hair you sold for two gold to that poor girl who wanted to win the man of her
