Reviews for The Pollan Family Table

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I enjoyed the introduction to the book and agree that we should eat as families much more than we do now. The recipes were easy to follow and I found a few that I will try. A lot of the recipes include capers and breadcrumbs. My family doesn't like those ingredients so many of the recipes would not appeal to them. This is a beautiful book but not something I would buy, just borrow from the library. It also would have been helpful to have a picture of each recipe and a list of possible substitutions

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love reading cookbooks, so I was already biased to like this book when I received it. The recipes are easy to follow with ingredients easily found in any grocery store. I also liked the pictures scattered throughout the book with the Pollan Family. I have not tried out the recipes yet but I have no doubt that when I do they will turn out great!***I received this book through Goodreads Member Giveaway. That did not affect my opinion.***

key ingredients to have on hand in your pantry or cabinet
THERE’S NOTHING MORE FRUSTRATING THAN planning to cook a great meal, only to open your pantry and discover that you’re missing a key ingredient. In fact, we’ve found that having a well-stocked pantry is one of the most critical components to successfully preparing home-cooked meals. It saves time and makes the cooking process easier.
Our list is extensive. It comprises what we believe are the most basic and essential ingredients. You don’t need to buy everything at once. Pick out the ones you’ll use most often and then add to them over time. All of these pantry list items can be found in the grocery store, and they have a long shelf life, so they can be used over and over again.
