About this ebook

Dear Reader,
I'm pretty shocked by something I've just heard. Emily Flemming is afraid that her husband, Dave, might be having an affair. She apparently found an earring in his pocketand it wasn't hers. And she says he's been coming home late and acting secretive. Not only that, some jewelry was recently stolen from an old woman, and Dave (in his capacity as pastor) used to visit her a lot .
This is all so hard to believe! Dave's a good pastor and a good man. He and Emily appear to have the perfect life, with their children, Matthew and Mark, and their lovely home at 8 Sandpiper Way. But I guess things aren't always as they seem. Reader, I'd love to hear what you think, and so does Emily.
I have some personal news, tooit's turning out to be a challenging year. But there are also some interesting updates about our friends in Cedar Cove. Like Sheriff Troy Davis, to mention one. Guess what? His long-ago love, Faith Beckwith, has just moved back here!
Hope you'll join Emily and me for a cup of tea soon.

Reviews for 8 Sandpiper Way

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/58 Sandpiper Way is another great addition to the Cedar Cove Series. Appearances by beloved characters and getting to know other characters who have been more recently introduced is always a pleasure with this series.
Although I greatly enjoy each installment being injected with a mystery, I was disappointed with the storyline of David Flemming. The story being directed towards a pastor is to show himself as a fallen man, I was hoping something more realistic and scandalous. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/58 Sandpiper Way starts with Pastor Flemming as a suspect in the theft of a deceased womans jewels. Shaw is seeing Tammi a girl who is an artist and has recently lost her father. Olivia has another medical scare. Troy and Faith have called it quits and Faith doesn't want to give him another chance. Shaw has also found a dead body which will be the main topic along with Troys love life in the next book. These aren't the best written series but they sure do make you want to keep coming back for more.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5For some reason didn't care for this one as well as some in the series. Still a great series to read.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is the eighth installment of the Cedar Cove series. We learn a little more about Olivia and her battle with cancer, understand the problems between Pastor Flemming and his wife, and see more into the problems of the sheriff and his on again/off again girlfriend. This is becoming a little too much like a soap opera for my taste, I think there is only one book left in the series.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/58th in series. Helps to have read the first seven. Stories of people in Cedar Cove. This one was about the pastor, but there are continuing stories about all the people. Enjoyable read.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It's almost Christmas in Cedar Cove and Pastor Dave Flemming has plenty on his mind - the Christmas pageant (with live animals!), sermons to write, sick parishioners to visit and more. He's a busy man, but his wife Emily suspects something else is going on and begins to think her beloved husband is up to no good. Other residents of Cedar Cove have their own issues to deal with. Sheriff Troy Davis is pining after long lost love Faith Beckwith; Christie Levitt is fighting her attraction to limo driver James Wilbur; and Olivia Lockhart Griffin is fighting breast cancer. As each of them and other residents of Cedar Cove deal with their problems, they realize how much family, friends, and neighbors mean to them."8 Sandpiper Way" is the eighth book in Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove series - a series that is a lot of fun to read. While the book definitely has a soap opera feel - complete with a large cast of characters - Dave and Emily's problems are very real and very timely in today's world. At times I wanted to yell at Dave for not confiding in Emily, but his keeping his problems to himself is also very real. Besides David and Emily's story line, there are several other story lines going on and the one that I like the most, more so in fact than Emily and Dave's, was the interaction between Christie and James (and Macomber drops a bombshell in this plot line). Chess player Bobby Polgar never seems quite real to me as a character but James his driver does.If there is a fault in this entertaining series, it is that Macomber has too many characters in it. Because of this, some of the characters that featured prominently in past books in the series - for example Maryellen and Jon Bowman, the Cox family, and Justin and Seth Gunderson are either barely in the book or just mentioned in passing. This can be disappointing, especially since Macomber introduces some new characters - Shirley Bliss, her daughter Tanni, and Shaw Wilson. While I realize Macomber wants to keep the series fresh and Tanni and Shaw's story does end on a cliffhanger that helps set up the next book in the series, neither of them do much for me as characters."8 Sandpiper Way" is a nice cozy book to read. It's not terribly deep, but Macomber seems to have had a lot of fun writing it (I suspect her tongue was firmly in cheek more than once) and it is a lot of fun to read, especially during these cool autumn nights.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Visiting the good folks at Cedar Cove, WA is always rewarding. Macomber make the town. Characters come to life and you want to go there for a visit, stay awhile, and enjoy yourself.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Another Cedar Cove Book. Not as good as some, but nice to re-visit old friends.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I have read Debbie Macomber's books for a while now and reading this series for the first time I know why I enjoy reading her books. They are feeled with warmth and love and I love novels that are like that. This was a great read will read it again.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book didn't have a good finish. It was incomplete
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I really enjoyed this book. I wanted Emily to find something and confront Dave, but was really surprised how their problem ended! This book was the first I read of the series and since have read the rest. I thought this to be one of the better books in the series. Great book!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5There aren't that many secrets to keep in a close-knit community like Cedar Cove, Washington. So, when Emily Flemming finds an earring in her husband's pocket, she is understandably upset. The lost earring is definitely not hers, and Emily is worried that her husband Dave might be having an affair. She doesn't want to believe that Dave could or would cheat on her, but he's been acting so strangely lately that she just can't be certain.Dave Flemming is a pastor - a loving husband and a wonderful father to their two boys; he truly is a good, upstanding, moral man - and Emily is deeply ashamed of her thoughts. However, she just can't stop herself from thinking this way. There's just something different about her husband, and she can't put her finger on what it is exactly. She has just learned that some jewelry was recently stolen from an elderly woman's house - and Dave used to visit the lady quite a bit.Emily can't believe that Dave is guilty of doing anything illegal - that's just not in his nature. However, since he doesn't tell her where he's been when he comes home so late - she can't help but wonder just what is happening with him. Something is definitely going on with Dave; something certainly seems wrong with him, and Emily is determined to find out just what it is.First of all, let me say that I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a quick and easy read for me, and a fairly pleasant way to spend a couple of days. I certainly appreciated having the list of characters at the beginning of the book; it was really helpful to know who was who as I was reading.I must say that the story's plot actually wasn't all that difficult to follow. The storyline itself was pretty simple, and nothing really mind-blowing or overly dramatic happened; at least in my opinion. Although, I would still give this book an A!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Cedar Cove series continues with this book focusing on Pastor Flemming who turns out to have financial problems he's hiding from his wife, not an affair, but someone has framed him in some jewelry disappearances, Tanni, a HS girl takes up with Shaw & they discover a dead body, and Bobby's driver is not who he seemed and takes off for parts unknown, and Bobby's wife is pregnant with triplets. Just a little going on in town!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Am trying to play catch up with Debbie’s Cedar Cove Series (as watching on Hallmark) and of course will pick up next season with season two. Since I have not read these in order, am introduced to some characters I am not familiar with and the others of course I am.
This is the 8th in the series and centers around Pastor Dave and his wife Emily. Emily is worried her husband is having an affair. Of course Olivia is facing surgery for cancer and as always the family and town offer their support. Sheriff Troy Davis, Rachel and Bruce, Justine, Megan, Faith, and many more from this small town of Cedar Cove. Not wild about the narrator-Sandra Burr (glad she uses a different performer for her newer books).
