    Rachel Miller thought her next job was a run-of-the-mill haunting. As a member of the Order of Rescue Mediums it's her duty to release trapped spirits from the earthly realm. But when called to client Sylvia Elkeles's house, she finds a wraith who doesn't act like he should.

    The Order considers the wraith an extreme threat and Rachel may be forced to use a barbaric ritual to free hima ritual that comes with a heavy personal price. If she fails to humanely release the wraith, she'll have her supernatural abilities bound.

    When Janus Ostaralocal supernatural mob bossshows up demanding her attention, and Sylvia keeps secrets that may place Rachel in mortal danger, she doesn't need her abilities to know something darkly sinister is at play.

    Between uncovering Sylvia's disturbing motives, and avoiding Janus, Rachel has enough on her hands without dealing with a wraith who may not realize he's supposed to be dead...

      Very short read but had a lot packed in such a small story. It was alright. It kept reminding me of Shade by Jeri Smith Ready with the way that wraiths were known to react. I liked Shade much better than this one though because of the additional back story and world building included in the longer novel. I think I would have enjoyed this one more if it would have been a lot more fleshed out.

      4 StarsStubborn Dead is a novella and I feel its meant for longer book. That their is a back story I don't know.Rachel Miller is a member of the Order of Rescue Mediums Their job is release trapped spirits. Their are a bunch of rules they have about what they must do or what they should not do.Rachel is called out on a job and things go wrong. It is not the usual spirits that is haunting the house. The ownner won't tell her whats going on. Rachel is being set up for somthing. Thier is some group watching her.I wish the story was longer. I want to understand its secrets so hope another book is in the works.01/23/2012 PUB Carina Press

      This was really a 4.5 star read and I need to purchase the next novella in the series immediately!

      What a fantastic world Natasha Hoar has created. Along with fully fleshed out characters, an intriguing mystery and a satisfying bang for the resolution - Yeah, I'm hooked.
