    Katherine Garbera is the USA Today Bestselling author of 127 novels. Brought up in a loving home where creativity was encouraged, she never considered writing as a career though she loved making up stories for her sisters and swim teammates. She married young and started her family and only when it was time for her to return to a career, she didn’t love did she start to think about writing as a way to stay home with her daughter.       Pretty good book and second chance story. Aly and Jay haven't seen each other in four years. Jay is coming up on decision time as to whether he continues in the Marines or gets out. He hasn't been able to forget Aly and regrets the way he left her. He would like a second chance to win her back. Aly has been working hard to get her bakery off the ground and hasn't dated much. She doesn't seem to be able to connect with any of the men she has gone out with. When he reappears in her life she realizes she has never gotten over him. He is trying to win her back and she is trying to use their attraction to get over him once and for all. Both of them had some serious issues to overcome. Aly quickly realizes she still cares for him but feels that she cannot trust him to stay. She knows that he has problems opening up, that he is very much a loner. She keeps trying to make him fit into her life the way it is rather than trying to find a compromise between their two worlds. She eventually figures out that's what she is doing, but still has those trust issues. Jay has had a couple close calls while he was deployed and realizes that he doesn't really want to live the rest of his life alone. He has thought about her constantly over the last four years and would like to see if they can work things out. He hadn't had much love in his life as a kid and as a sniper was also very much a loner. He has never learned how to open himself up to his feelings and keeps trying to protect himself. They both keep repeating past mistakes and I wondered if they were ever going to get it right. I was glad to see that they were both able to exhibit some character growth and work out their problems. On a side not, this is the second book I've read lately where the Harlequin editors have properly capitalized Marine and Marine Corps. After years of complaining, maybe they have finally learned...
