About this ebook

2006 Christy Award Nominee!

The Redemption is a rousing pirate adventure filled with sea battles, chases, arrests, and betrayal. Tyndall expertly interweaves history with fiction to create a spellbinding tale any lover of pirate romance will enjoy. Cindy Vallar – Editor Pirates and Privateers

Charlisse Bristol sets off on a voyage in search of a father she never knew, only to become shipwrecked on an island. She longs for a father's love to fill the emptiness in her soul from an abusive childhood, but resigns herself to a lonely death of starvation. Her salvation comes in the form of a band of pirates and their fierce, enigmatic leader, Captain Merrick.

The last thing Merrick expected to find in the middle of the Caribbean was a beautiful maiden. Now he is burdened with the task of not only protecting her from his crew, but from himself. A recent convert to Christianity, Merrick is haunted by a sordid past while he struggles to become a better man and accepts a mission from God to hunt down the most vicious pirates on the Caribbean.

Charlisse can make no sense of Captain Merrick. A pirate who prays and drinks rum? Breaking her vow to never trust any man, she finds herself falling for the pirate/priest, who more than once risks his life to save her. When she confides in him her quest to find her father, Merrick agrees to help. What he doesn't realize is Charlisse's father is the ruthless Edward the Terror, the one man Merrick has vowed to hunt down and kill.

Evil forces are at work against Charlisse and Merrick: enemies, battles, imprisonment, jealousy, and betrayal, all threaten to destroy not only their new found romance but their very lives. It will take a miracle—or several—for either of them to survive.

M. L. Tyndall has written a fascinating story that rivals Pirates of the Caribbean, and Captain Merrick is giving Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) a run for his money, too! I highly recommend this well-written, high-seas novel that dares anyone to label it as merely just another romance. Sherri Myers, Romance Junkies

M.L. Tydall not only wrote an exciting action and love filled story, but a story in which God and His true love are really the center. God is not just thrown in here and there as in some "christian" romances. I will be reading more of her books.

I thoroughly enjoyed 'The Redemption'! The story centers around Lady Charlisse Bristol who is fleeing a cruel uncle. She boards a ship and sets out to find her father. A storm hits and sinks the ship but she somehow manages to drift to a deserted island. There she is slowly withering away. Then after weeks of combating the elements a band of pirates show up. The Captain, Emund Merrick is very handsome and seems to be a gentleman, although he does have a certain gleam in his eye. He is a reformed pirate who knows the Lord but still struggles with the flesh. He cares for her and takes her aboard to sail with them. He tells her he will help her to find her father. That is until he finds out that her father is Edward the Terror, the cruelest pirate on the Caribbean. He is very torn as he has feelings for Charlisse but also wants to bring her father to justice for the cruel things he has done. Can Charlisse learn to trust Captain Merrick? What will happen when they find her father? What an exciting story. You fall in love with Edmund Merrick and admire Charlisse's spirit. The secondary characters are also very lovable. Except First Mate Kent, whom you love to hate. This story has it all, Romance, adventure, suspense and faith. You won't be disappointed. I am looking forward to the next book 'The Reliance' due out around Jan. Then the last book 'The Restitution'.

A young woman on her way to Jamaica to find her father is marooned on a deserted island when her ship sinks. She manages to survive until a ship happens by--but is dismayed to learn it is a pirate ship. The captain is a man recently converted to following the Lord, however, so things may not be as desperate for her as they seem.I enjoyed this tale of adventure and pirates, if unrealistic at times it made for a good yarn. There is a strong romantic element of course. The heroine stood her own and despite making some foolish choices was easy to like. This made for a good escape read.
