Reviews for Rome, Parthia and India

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5John Grainger is an excellent historian of the Seleukid dynasty. This book is far more approachable (and less academic) than his previous works (e.g., The Syrian Wars), but he still teases out interesting facts and insights. This specific era, 150-140 BCE, is fairly opaque, and the window Grainger is able to provide from the few extant sources is remarkable. He has published several recent books with Pen & Sword publishing, and I own all of them. I highly recommend all of Grainger's work about the Seleukids and Syria.
