About this ebook

Ernst Zimmermann’s life changed with a touch. The woman with satin skin, the color of coffee with a splash of cream in it, was the one. At thirty-four, he had believed he was perfectly happy with his life as a Navy Seal.

I'm a huge Aliyah Burke fan, but lately I've been having a couple of issues with some of her work. They're to do with typos and the heroines, psychotic types to be specific. Ernst and Kacy's story was no different. While I really liked Ernst, Kacy progressively grated on me. I couldn't have put the two together in real life. She was all take, take, take, could be irrational and everything had to be on her terms. Realistically speaking, I don't know who in their right mind would have any patience for that. I found that scene at the end very uncomfortable to read, especially given that she's a victim of abuse herself. I don't tolerate "spousal abuse" of any kind I.e man on woman and vice versa. I couldn't help but wonder if she would develop a penchant for it and poor Ernst would bear the brunt of it long term. Just my stance on the matter. I felt Ernst could also have drawn the line somewhere, letting Kacy see the error of her ways and also, let her do the chasing for once. I would otherwise have given this book a 5 star rating.
