About this ebook

Izzy's mother works far away and leaves Izzy at home, alone with Rob the Slob. Angry at her mother and trying to deal with school, friends and the attentions of charismatic Cody Dillon, Izzy finds her life swirling out of control. Coerced into putting out to help Cody, Izzy finds she is one in a long line of girls ensnared in prostitution, with no way to escape. Believing that her mother will come for her, Izzy manages to fight back and, when the chance appears, make a run for it.

This book was an OK book because the story was slow moving, but the characters were interesting.

(Spoiler)This is a quick read, an issue-based story aimed at teenagers. While it is about a teenage girl getting caught in the sex trade, there aren't any graphic sexual descriptions. The thing that horrified me in this story was not the situation Izzy ended up in, but rather the total failure of the adults in her life to listen to her at all. And at the very end, when she gets the chance to escape, her mother magically appears,as if that fixes anything. I think this might have been better as a longer work, with more time to explore the relationships between the characters.
