About this ebook

THE PERFECT ANTI-TWILIGHT
A MIX BETWEEN ANNE RICE’S AND POPPY Z. BRITE’S WORKS
NOT TO RECOMMAND FOR PEOPLE OF NERVOUS DISPOSITION.
Magda is a vampire unlike any other.
For she decided not to drink human blood anymore. Bathing in her tub, she feeds on her own breed.
Until these mere ersatz can’t sustain her no more.
She is about to have a relapse into flows of blood.
Magda lives in Düsseldorf during the rise of the Nazis. The SS casts a reign of terror upon Germany: raids, executions and deportations. The predators have power all over Europe.
But on the evolution’s ladder, Magda is the strongest predator of all.
And she will kill again soon, but not random preys.
She will become an SS Slayer. But Magda has always loved playing before killing.

The Song of the Lorelei, graphic novel translated from French by Arnold Petit and illustrated by Christel Michiels, is the first part out of the three Chants that compose Hymns for a Vampire, a graphic novel designed and illustrated by Christel Michiels. This strong novella draws us into the thoughts and intimacy of a female vampire called Magda, during the 3rd Reich period. Between violence, outrageous eroticism and romantisme noir, Stéphanie Brasey’s novel recalls of the bald writings of Poppy Z. Brite and Anne Rice. Readers won’t be indifferent to its both corrosive and elegant style, where darkness and sex have reached a Beaux-Arts quality. Even if unclassifiable and sometimes disturbing, Hymns for a Vampire is - above all – a pure love story.

"This novel written by Stéphanie Brasey draws us into the non-life of Magda, a female vampire who lives in Germany during the Second World War. The creature struggles a rehab against her thirst for blood…

We are quickly drawn into the story and its gorish introduction that could make an anthological scene for a film feature."
