I began writing in 2002 with a memoir that was a finalist for the prestigious Oregon Book Award. Since then I've been writing most days in the morning for an hour or so and am currently working on book #10. It's just so fun. I'm a big reader of mysteries and thrillers and have written three of my own. I also enjoy exploring the relationships between men and women, and mothers and daughters. I'm a former college professor of literature and writing who's been a freelance editor for the last 25 years. I am also a pastel and acrylic painter and I make art deco needlepoint pillows (www.jillkellycreative.com). I live in Portland, Oregon, with my four cats who do all the chores so I can be creative 24/7.

About the Author
A Word from the Author
Some years ago, I got interested in the chakras, energy centers in the body that are a common part of Hindu beliefs. When our chakras are aligned and healthy, our lives go better, so those beliefs say. I read a lot and then began using what I knew about the chakras and creativity to complete big projects, like redoing my apartment, finishing a manuscript, and finding the right studio for my art work.
Later, I began offering classes to others who had big projects, often ones they had been stuck completing for months or years. In every case, people who completed the course got their big projects done. One redesigned her backyard from start to finish over the nine months. Another completed three years of back taxes (and got a big refund she wasn’t expecting). Another completed all the marketing materials and marketing plan for a home business and got it launched. A fourth put together her first one-woman art show. A fifth wrote a cookbook for friends with food allergies.
This ebook contains both the solo program I’ve used (sometimes with a buddy) and handouts and instructions for doing a group workshop. The program is designed for those interested in learning about the chakras, enhancing their creative abilities, and completing a large project.
This book is not a definitive work on the chakras (history, theory, spiritual applications), but rather a practical guide to using the chakras for personal growth in creativity. A list at the end of the book provides readings for those interested in delving deeper.
