About this ebook

When you're a thief, your dating options are limited. When you're a cop, it's even worse. So what happens when a burglar and two lawmen are trapped together during a heist gone wrong?

Blue has been a thief for years, but she's never been in a situation quite like this. When you're crammed into a tiny space with two sexy detectives, things can get very dicey. Shockingly, instead of arresting her, Matt and Liam ask for a kiss. Blue is happy to oblige. Anything to keep the handcuffs off, right?

Matt and Liam never expect to end up cornered with a gorgeous thief. Liam has sworn off women and Matt can't find anyone he likes better than his partner, so their love lives are nonexistent. When they meet a woman who keeps the same crazy hours as cops do, maybe her criminal career choice isn't the deal breaker it should be?

    Chapter One

Blue slithered down the airshaft feet first, hoping she hadn’t totally screwed up by going down the tube this direction. She had to get into the back room, grab the diamond, and get back out within the next half hour. If she didn’t, she’d have to hide in the cramped storage closet until three in the morning, and she really, really, wanted to get a good night’s sleep this weekend. She couldn’t do that if she was crouched in a dusty hole for half the night.

You should have started earlier, she told herself, wishing her mother hadn’t called and made her late. Thirty-eight years old and my mother still phones every week to check up on me. All because my asshole ex-husband turned out to be a crazy stalker. Her thoughts trailed off as she sighed. She’d vowed she wouldn’t think about David anymore. She’d divorced his ass over two years ago and he had no hold over her anymore. Except for when my mom calls and insists on talking about my traumatized feelings. Ugh. Of course, Blue could’ve postponed the job, but then the man who’d hired her wouldn’t get his ring back in time for his elaborate marriage proposal tomorrow. He’d been mugged just this morning. Retrieving stolen property was her specialty. She had to do this tonight, or the poor man would be in the hole for ten grand. And I won’t get paid, either, which would suck because I really wanted that new pair of shoes I saw yesterday.

She slowly worked her way through the metal shaft, sighing in relief when her feet hit the side of the air vent. She just had to twist to the left, and there! The secondary crawlspace was right at her fingertips. She ran her gloved hands over the edges of the metal grating with the ease of long practice, then began to slowly work it free.

She knew the pawnshop owner liked to meet with a particular type of buyer on Saturday nights, and she also knew that this buyer dealt in more hardcore merchandise than stolen jewelry. She needed to be done and gone by the time he showed up with his thugs. She carefully slid the grating into the air vent, then squirmed her way out through it headfirst. When she was hanging half out of the shaft, she looked around. The back room of the shop was dark and filled with boxes and shelving. The only light was from a small window in the very top of the back door.

Okay, then. Time to get to work. She attached her rope so she would be able to climb back up into the vent, and then flipped down and out, landing lightly on her feet. Her right shoulder gave her a bit of trouble, but then, she wasn’t as young as she used to be. The rotator cuff didn’t hurt her enough to keep her from doing her job, so she
