I dedicate this book to my life lines.
My daughter Octavia, my mother Addie and my dad Henry Sr.
POEMS
My souls joys and burdens poems do release,
they ease the pain to bring me peace.
Poems are a way to express what I am feeling,
a way to keep me from climbing the ceiling.
I create a thing of beauty to which I can look back,
sooner or later I’ll achieve the knack.
To be a poet,
maybe I am and don’t even know it.
WHO AM I
Who am I,
why do I sigh.
I look into the mirror and do not recognize the face,
what have I become living in this place.
The eyes that stare back at me should be mine,
but they are eyes of a stranger walking a thin line.
However I have a plan which I shall carry out,
through the chaos and other peoples doubt.
I shall once again enjoy tranquility all around,
no more stress with my feet on the ground.
I have covered up my true self and hidden the inner me,
trying to be something everyone else wanted me to be.
The reflection in the mirror stares back at me as I wonder why,
but all it ask is who am I.
HE IS OUT THERE
There is a man out there for me,
