    CHAPTER 1: Troy’s Way

I don’t want to do this, but I will call the police if you do not answer me. This is kidnapping you know! She pleads through her sobbing.

Kidnapping? Woman, please you are not a kid, Plus I own you. When you put that ring on your finger saying ‘I do’, you agreed to honor and obey me. So do as you are told and we won’t have any problems. O-b-e-y ME! Troy spoke harshly.

Yvette hopes that someone will come to the house Troy has her held captive at. She is fed up and wants to tell them about Troy.

Boy whatever! You don’t own me. I am a grown ass woman. You are taking me against my will; regardless of what you are talking about, this shit is illegal. Yvette informs him.

I can’t wait until they catch up to your crazy ass; I want to get out of here, she mumbled.

The sunlight beaming through the window confirmed the time was in the morning. She began to wonder whose house they were in.

What did you say? Troy asked whipping his head around.

Nothing… Can we eat something I’m starving? It is okay to feed your prisoner right? Yvette stated.

"You know you still have a smart mouth…but I love it. That’s what attracted me to you. You are not my prisoner, you’re my wife." Troy said.

Wife? Seriously? If this is how you treated all of your wives, I would rather go back to when we were just screwing around. This is insane Troy. Let me go home. Yvette responded.

Nah, I can’t do that. Then he would win. Troy told her. Who would win? Yvette asked confused.

Deon! He would win you back! Troy explained. Look if you’re hungry, then I will get you something to eat. What do you want?

You act like I know what to ask for. Are you cooking or going out to get something to eat? Yvette asked annoyed with the whole situation. He finishes feeding Troy Junior, and puts him down for a nap on the bed. He leaves the bedroom taking the rest of the milk formula into the kitchen. He places it on the countertop.

Damn, Nate you don’t have much food in here Troy remarks. He searches the refrigerator and pantry for something to give to Yvette.

    Hello? Yvette called out.

Returning to the bedroom he addresses her last statement. I hear you. There is not much to pick from, but I think I can make you some breakfast without having to run to the grocery store. Give me a minute. I found some eggs and biscuits, how does that sound? Troy asked smiling.

Yeah, I guess that is fine. Yvette responds still avoiding eye contact with him. She wiped her tears away.

Eve think... You are smarter than this. You have to get out of here! she thinks to herself. He exits the room again.

I am going to make you something quick. I have a busy day. Troy told her rushing back to the kitchen grabbing ingredients that he needed.

"Oh really…? You have a busy day? Lucky you are not being held against your will by me, huh? That would interrupt your plans for sure, and we do not want that" Yvette mocked standing at the bedroom door.

Troy gasped in frustration. Why hadn’t he thought this all the way through? His plans were falling apart rather quickly.

Whatever. Everything that I do is for us. We are meant to be. Deon can’t give you all the things that I can. And as you can see he can’t protect you, because I just whipped his ass! Troy taunted from the kitchen.

I swear you bitches want a weak man’s heart, but want a strong man’s money. Troy whispered aloud fussing.

Excuse me? Did you just call me a bitch?! Yvette asked staring at Troy. Did I say bitches? My bad, I meant hoes. He replied. Yvette was taken aback by his boldness. Nothing he said seemed to bother him anymore. He continued cooking as if he hadn’t said anything disrespectful.

You see Eve, that’s what happen when you got that good stuff; you got these fools wanting to hide the pussy. Yvette remarks aloud to herself shaking her head. Yvette looks through the doorway.

If he didn’t have that gun on his hip, I would make a run for it, Yvette deliberates walking over to the window.

She can see a river and signs on the bridge across the way indicating she is in Memphis, TN. Gazing out of the window she gets lost in her thoughts of how things used to be for them before the whole accident with Jazmina hitting them with her car. Troy re-enters the room with her plate of food that he just finished preparing.

Thank you. It looks good. she smiled. Troy you know they are going to report me missing. Monae and my mom will start worrying. Why I can’t call them?

They can report all they want. Your ass isn’t going anywhere. And you are not callin’ anybody; so stop asking. Troy said as he hands her the plate of eggs and waffles.

You can’t keep me like this forever. They will come looking for me. What makes you think they won’t find me? she asks taking the plate sitting on the bed again.

Well I’m too smooth for that. They don’t know where to look. They probably think you’re somewhere in Chicago, or Indiana for that matter. Troy bragged taking a seat in the red recliner in the bedroom. He takes the gun from his hip putting it on the coffee table setting next to him.

This isn’t how you love someone Troy. Hurting me is not going to solve anything. Yvette said trying to persuade Troy to release her.

I won’t hurt you. Unless you want me to... Troy says flirting with Yvette. But she didn’t find him flattering at all. He disgusted her for what he had done. He takes his clothes off, approaching Yvette with his manhood in his hand.

Come to daddy when you get done eating he orders stroking himself slowly, giving her a seductive look. No thank you. I can’t even be turned on sexually while I am in this type of situation. Yvette said frowning.

Oh don’t be like that. I know you have missed big daddy. Troy teases massaging his dick until it got rock hard.

Damn he looks tasty… NO! Stop it Eve! You have to resist him, she thought. No, I can’t do anything my period is on. Yvette lied. She continues eating her meal, drinking the orange juice Troy brought her.

Dammit! I sure did want to feel you. Did you just come on or something? We can lay a towel down... Troy suggested.

Nope, it just came down yesterday; so it is fresh and that is nasty. No way will I do that! Yvette replied frowning in disgust. He takes his manhood closer to her trying to place his hand behind her head.

Hell no! Don’t you even think, that you’re about to get some head from me. After this you stunt you pulling, you would be lucky if I don’t turn you in to the police, once I get out of here. Yvette turns her head avoiding the contact.

You know what Eve, your mouth is always running, maybe because you need something in it. Troy advises. He takes his hand placing it behind her head. Pulling her head forward he brings her mouth to his dick.

Open…! Open your fucking mouth! Troy orders. Yvette keeps her lips tight and eyes closed. She shakes her head no attempting to resist. He pries her mouth open, squeezing her jaws until he can feel her warm tongue. Yvette gives up on her struggle, figuring Troy would need some rest after all the driving he did. She decides to give him the oral sex he was asking for, while making her escape plan. She is successful at making him cum quickly. He stretches out next to Troy junior on the bed, without a care in the world.

    * * *

She recalls seeing a Beale Street sign, and the fact that she could look out of the window across the way, and gain view of the Memphis Bridge proved she was in Memphis, Tn.

Memphis? Why did he bring me here? Yvette asked herself. Todd’s funeral is this weekend, she remembers.

Troy kept his phone either close by or hidden the entire trip. Yvette waited until she thought Troy was deep asleep. She figured it would be easier to slide out of bed than moving swiftly making a lot of noise. She picks up Troy Junior, placing him gently in the car seat with his diaper bag beside him.

Looking around the bedroom she searched for the keys. But when she does not see them, she decides to just proceed to the front of the house. Yvette kept her eyes on Troy making sure he doesn’t wake up. Once she sees the opportunity, she grips the car seat handle along with the diaper bag. Quietly, she carries Troy Junior out of the bedroom, after opening its door. It made a creaking sound, causing her to hold her breath. She turns around slowly hoping Troy didn’t hear it.

He doesn’t appear to have heard anything. Tip toeing through the house Yvette can’t seem to find his cell phone. She grabs some money lying on one counter, noticing the keys on the adjacent counter in the kitchen.

Yes! She thinks smiling feeling as if she is free. But just as Yvette opens the door to the house thinking that she has escaped, she feels a strong force holding her back. Troy reaches for her arm pulling her back into the house. He covers her mouth preventing her scream from being heard.

In one motion he takes Troy Junior’s car seat from her grasp. He yanks Yvette, throwing her back into the house. She falls to the floor. In frustration she screams, cursing at him.

Why won’t you just let me out of here? I don’t love you Troy! This person that you have become is someone that I do not like. What happened to the sweet man who asked me to marry him? Yvette asks with tears in her eyes.

Get up off the floor now! Troy demanded, closing the door after looking outside of it to make sure that no one saw Yvette, or heard Yvette’s scream. Yvette gets up as instructed. Troy points for her to return into the bedroom. She frowns up, stomping all the way to the bedroom like a toddler being punished by its parents.

This is me, the man that you fell in love with. Baby I can’t control this thing that is happening to me. I have a medical condition, which right now I am taking prescribed medicine for it. Troy confesses.

What? What are you talking about? Yvette asks through her sobs. I mean that I love you and I am trying to be patient with you. But if you try to leave me, I will kill you. Troy answered.

What kind of medical condition do you have? Yvette asks. Did he just admit to being crazy? Oh hell naw!

I don’t remember what it is called. But you have to understand that I need you to stay with me Troy lied. Okay, you win. We can go back home and settle this thing there. I can just tell Deon that I do not want to be with him. It seems pretty simple to me. I don’t see why you have to take me away somewhere to keep us apart. We cannot stay here forever. She tells him.

We are only here temporarily Eve. You have to stay here while I go take care of some things. Also I can’t miss Todd’s funeral Sunday. I need to go talk to some people real quick. He tells her. She turns her head blocking his attempt to kiss her on the lips, resulting in him kissing her cheek.

What happened to Todd? Do you know who would have possibly wanted to murder him? I went to the deli; I know that he was pronounced a suicide. But I know the truth. Todd would never want to kill himself. Yvette states wiping her tears away and within seconds Troy was in her face. He grabbed her jaw with one hand squeezing it before making his next statement.

Eve I am going to tell you this one time. If I hear you speak one ounce of this talk again about what happened between me and Todd, I will kill you. Troy scolds as he handcuffed her to the brass headboard.

You know what? I don’t care. Kill me! I’d probably be better off dead, then here with you…YOU MURDERER! Yvette shouted.

Eve, don’t push me! I’m warning you! Now give me some of that sweet pussy! Troy demanded striking her in the jaw.

He slid his hands up and down Yvette’s body, feeling her up. Tears slid down her cheeks once more. She braced herself for what was to come next. How could her own husband rape her? She didn’t see Troy as being abusive to women. Guess that is why Judy got out of their marriage while she had the chance.

Troy placed Troy Junior’s car seat in its place on the floor beside him this time instead. He puts his gun on the nightstand and slides Yvette’s shorts down. Her body is exposed revealing her red underwear. Troy removes the underwear sliding his own pair of gym shorts down.

You lied to me. You are not having your woman cycle right now. Troy said outraged.

Ugh! Don’t touch me! Yvette groaned still holding her face from the sting; she knew she was caught in her lie. Troy lifts her shirt up, kissing her stomach. Now he was doing all the right things to get her in the mood. Placing a finger inside of her, he checks for her wetness.

Mmmm. That’s what I’m talkin’ about. Just like I love it… Troy says. Yvette allowed Troy to do whatever he wanted. He places his body on top of hers entering her slowly. Lifting her legs onto his shoulder, he gets the leverage that he needs for his ultimate climax. She didn’t want to embrace the sensation she was feeling but Troy was always good at his sex game.

Damn, you hitting my spot… Yvette couldn’t help but moan. He is so excited that he can hardly contain himself. Within a couple minutes Troy had exploded inside of Yvette. She isn’t able to push him off of her as he clamps on to her thighs. Shit I’m not on any birth control. Get off of me! she shouts.

What’s wrong with that? You are my wife. You had a baby by Deon, so you should be able to have one by me! Troy fussed getting up from his position. Yvette remained silent thinking of she would need to get a morning after pill ASAP. She didn’t want a baby by Troy’s crazy self. Breathing heavily Troy lay next to her sweating. He gets up to get a towel. After wetting the towel he hands it to Yvette to wash up. Because of her attempt to flee Troy was going to keep her hand-cuffed to anything that he could find.

Please God help, she prayed silently. Tears rolled down her face as Yvette feared that she would never see her family or friends again. She lay in the bed with one hand cuffed to the rail headboard. Troy Junior was close enough to her to feed. But she hoped Troy would come back soon because there was only so much that she could do. And using the restroom was not one of them.

Troy walks out of the door to start his day. There was a lot of weight resting on his shoulders.

    CHAPTER 2: Deon’s Journey begins

The week seems long, as days passed with Deon wondering where Yvette was. He prayed nothing happened to her or the baby. His baby boy…

Troy Junior! Yeah, we will have to change that shit, Deon thought.

He tries reaching out to those still under the Gangster Disciples in Chicago, IL, to see if they have seen or talked to Troy, but no one has. Hundreds of miles away from Yvette, Deon and Patrick rest at their mother’s home. They finished arranging for her funeral with their mother’s sister Tina on this past Monday. Their uncle Joe is still heated from the last time they met, which resulted in problems getting the family limo seating organized.

Man I feel like we should go over to Todd’s house to talk to his wife. She deserves to know what Troy did. I know it was him. No one else was in the home, and he had the same blue bracelet on when we were over his house the night he too Eve. Patrick points out.

Yeah, I hope she is still there. She may be in Memphis already for his funeral. Deon replied.

They leave the house anyways heading to work making Brenda’s house their first stop that morning. They found Brenda packing luggage into the trunk of her Nissan Altima car rental. She was a pretty girl and reminded them of actress Nia Long, having short black hair.

Who is this pulling into my driveway now? Brenda pondered watching Deon and Patrick as they parked on the curb behind her driveway. One thing she learned from the streets was to watch her back. Her Taster was in the armrest, but she didn’t feel the need for it right now.

Hi Deon spoke getting out of the passenger side. Patrick followed and approached her as well.

Mommy do you want me to bring my jacket too? a small boy asked walking up to Brenda.

Sure baby. You never know how the weather will be down there. Tell your brother to bring his too. Brenda replied rubbing the boy on the top of his head. No doubt he was Todd’s son looking like a spitting image of him. The boy returns running into the house doing a told. Brenda turns her attention back to the two strange men, exhaling heavily before speaking.

Look I do not have time to answer any questions. I have to be in Memphis, so whatever you want to ask will have to wait. She advised sternly.

Deon speaks up first. We are not trying to intrude; we just wanted to give you our condolences.

Oh, were you friends of Todd. I am not familiar with either of you. She replied looking both men up and down. One having on a suit, while the other a mechanic shirt with his name on it and a pair of jeans.

Not quite. I made a run with him and Mack P’s crew to St. Louis some years ago. And he was found in our mother’s home last week. Deon announced making Brenda’s eyes water.

Yeah, we were the ones who discovered them dead. Patrick blurts.

Oh. Forgive me for being rude. I am sorry for your loss as well. Brenda hesitated. Well thank you for coming by. I appreciate it. When is her funeral?

It is tomorrow on Saturday. Anyways we came here hoping to shed a little light on this whole situation, if we can have a couple minutes of your spare time. Deon responds.

Seems like the one in the mechanic shirt has more brains, than the guy in the suit, Brenda thought to herself. The boys come outside racing to the car. Okay. I guess I have a few minutes. Let’s talk in the house.

Boys, come inside for a minute. She commanded. Her two sons walk back out of the house.

Yes ma’am they each reply, before turning to walk back into the house.

Patrick and Deon trail behind. Am I going to have to make you stay in the car? Deon whispered hitting Patrick on the chest with his backhand.

Why? What did I do? Patrick asked dumbfounded.

You said Todd was dead to this wife, like it was nothing. Try not to sound harsh. She doesn’t want to hear that word right now. Deon explained frowning up at Patrick.

Oh I see. My bad… No I’m good. I won’t say anything else unless it is about the evidence we found.

That’s the part I’m worried about Deon mumbled entering Todd’s house again for the first time since their break-in, but this time they entered the right way through the front door.

She closes the door after checking to see if anyone else is nearing the home. Standing next to the fireplace she speaks, Alright fellas you have my attention.

To make a long story short, Troy attempted to kill me in St. Louis. Deon tells her lifting his shirt. I want to show you the scars just like I did for Todd, when we came here to warn him about Troy’s ways. We came here to get information on Troy and Mack P’s whereabouts.

We are sorry that we broke your window Patrick interjects.

Patrick, what the hell…? What did I just tell you outside? Deon scowls. Brenda was getting annoyed now.

Oh. You two motherfuckers are the ones who cost me $400 for a new door. Todd told me about a break-in but told me he would deal with it. Seems like you all are wasting my time. Get to the point. Brenda remarked crossing her arms in front of her chest.

We will pay you back for that. But we have proof that Troy was involved and conspired what happened to Todd and our mother Mary. He didn’t like the fact that I had returned to Chicago alive some months ago, and tried to keep me away from my ex-girlfriend Eve. You may know her. She is—

Uh-huh I know her. She’s Troy’s wife. I went to her baby shower. But I had no idea she was with you also. Brenda retorts.

"Well she wasn’t my ex-girlfriend technically, until Troy deceived
