    Slumbers last longer in the twenty-fifth century. Eli Gripp would know; he's just returned from his exile there. He considers the task before him now to be one of vengeance--a long road through Hell designed to absolve him of a petty survivor's guilt. Perhaps it's only an illusion, or a false memory, or a misdirection. As he soon discovers, the fight against madness begets madness; his soul reaches out into the opaque darkness of space looking for the one who is supposed to have all the answers, even while he flees from the gods who seek to punish him further for his sins.

    Damnation and retribution, salvation, the luminescence of the soul: these are the things that drive Eli forward unto the brink of death again and again, hurtling across a Solar system as populated and diverse as the cities, ghost towns, and desolate wastes of the Old West. His only constant companion is a reality-altering piano. His only drive is vengeance. His only fear is of doubt.
