    I've had enough of life. My ninety-four years have seen it all and now I'm done. Although I've still got my mental faculties, I can't walk as well as in the past and I'm really upset about that. Another thing is my wife, Maud, who passed away a few years ago and that's never helped. Some people enjoy their retirement, and I suppose I did when I could share it with my wife – but I can't see the sense to it anymore.

    I've got three sons and a daughter. The sons visit me whenever they can, though because they all live abroad: one in Australia, one in Hong Kong and the eldest in Holland, it's not as much as I'd like it to be. Catherine, my daughter, is a godsend – I don't know how I'd live without her love and care. Her husband's not much, though, Mark. He's a prick.
