Admittedly, Stiffy isn't always of much help because he can never keep his mind out of the gutter; but he has his moments and I appreciate them as much as everyone else does.

      This is something I forgot to include with the first book of this series, but I wanted to be sure to include with this book because there are several people I wish to thank for the role (however big or small) they played in helping me in the process of writing this series. I need to acknowledge and thank my friends Meredith Hargrove, Melissa Dodge, and Desparo Suicide for reading the character list and main plot points of the series before I even started writing it. At the time, I had only come up with the idea for book six (which I believed would be the final book of the series). I appreciate the fact that all three women cared enough to give me their honest opinions. During the process by which I arrived at the plot for book one of the series, I made quite a few changes; including the idea for book seven to be the final book of the series. Since I began writing this episode, my idea for book seven’s plot has changed; and may continue to evolve until I begin writing it. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for my characters. As you can see, the primary character in this episode shares her first name with one of my friends; to my knowledge first name and pure awesomeness are the only things the two have in common. I can say the same of my friend Melissa and the primary character in book four of this series. While Desparo Suicide does not yet have a namesake in this series, that does not mean that she will not have one; either in this or another series.

      Chapter 1

      Meredith dos Santos (July, 2021)

      Thirteen year-old Meredith dos Santos is visiting family in Badajoz, Spain. Tonight is the last night she has before returning to her parents in Portugal. Her aunt and uncle are taking her out to dinner as an early birthday present. Suddenly, she’s alone trying to find her way back to her relatives. In a flash, she’s lying naked and violated in a dark alley between two buildings.

      Keith Kendrick is awakened by Meredith’s tossing, turning, and whimpering in her sleep. He reaches over and gently nudges her until she is also awake. What’s wrong, where are we? she asks in a groggy voice. Kendrick kisses her forehead, You were having the dream again, weren’t you sweetie? dos Santos sighs, It’s been six fucking years, and that rat bastard is still hurting me! Every time I see or hear a commercial for his stupid tech company, I have that horrible dream. Keith wraps his arms around her, kisses her on the shoulder and whispers into her ear I know exactly what you need right now baby. Meredith turns, one eyebrow raised Oh, do you now? Kendrick smirks, Yep, let’s throw some sweats on, go for a jog and then hit the gym for a morning workout. She looks at the clock, It’s three in the morning, your flight to London leaves in five hours; and I need enough time to give you a proper good-bye. Well, Keith says, I can always take a later flight since I need to give you a proper good-bye before you head back to school. So what do you say to that morning workout? Meredith looks deep in thought, You always make such good points babe, reschedule your flight while I grab our sweats. We’ll get that morning workout in and then we can start our proper good-byes in the shower when we come back up here. Kendrick smiles, A woman that thinks like me, no wonder I love you.

      Chapter 2

      Jasper Williams (July, 2021)

      Mr. Williams, says his executive assistant as she enters his office here’s the paperwork on the closing of the Windsor, Ontario warehouse. You just need to sign them where indicated and I’ll fax them to your Canadian representative for follow through. Williams merely waves his hand and continues staring out his window. His assistant approaches his desk, I’ll just leave these here for you sir then exits. Once alone, Jasper turns his chair around, signs his name on all the indicated lines and adds a letter requesting the property be put up for sale to increase company funds. I’ve had the leading technology company for ten years, he says to himself; And this is the first time I’ve ever had to close down one of my facilities. I suppose I always knew I’d have to trim the fat at some point in order to stay on top, besides six months from now, I’ll probably be able to build a new warehouse in some poor European country where I can find cheap labor.

      Williams rises from his desk and approaches the world map on his office wall. Hmm, let’s see he says as he runs a finger over the eastern half of the map. "Thailand?
