Chapter One
Dinner for two. Elliot knew what it meant, and that didn’t make it hurt any less. It wasn’t his place to feel. It also wasn’t his place to grow attached to his Master, and it certainly wasn’t his place to get jealous. He was the slave. He signed up for this position to make the mental pain go away, which it had. But now he had put himself in more agony with his feelings. He placed the dishes on the tray, arranging everything to fit, before adding the garnish and the wine. It was a meal fit for a king, his king. Slowly he pushed the cart down the hall.
He’d only had a glimpse of the blond last time. It was top secret activity, and George had made sure only Elliot was working when it happened the first time, and this time was the same. He’d thought at first it was a night alone with his Master, but he’d been mistaken. It shouldn’t have surprised him. Elliot pressed his eyes closed before he knocked softly. Maybe if he begged hard enough George would beat him after his secret visitor left. God knows they would both need the release tonight.
George opened the door, shielding the inside of his room with his body. Elliot kept his eyes downcast. Part of him wanted to see what they were doing, and the dark parts of him wanted to see them together. He knew he deserved it. That pain. But the weak parts of him knew he couldn’t handle seeing Jesse tied to George’s bed or anything of the like. He’d slept two nights in that bed with George’s arms wrapped around him, and Elliot craved it. Even if his place was at the foot, he wanted it.
Thank you, boy.
George gripped the trolley with one large hand and slid it away from Elliot.
Ring if you need anything, King.
Before he turned, he looked up and saw Jesse as George moved aside, making room for the trolley to pass through the doorway. He was fully dressed, to Elliot’s surprise, in one of the suits George had commissioned for him.
It didn’t make Elliot feel better. He’d thought it would, but it hadn’t. George pushed the heavy oak door closed, and Elliot turned to go find his homework.
****
If I wasn’t a horribly selfish prick I’d tell you to throw the damn kid a bone in the form of a blow job.
When George turned, he found Jesse standing behind him.
Or fuck, let him sleep at the foot of your bed or something. He looks like a kicked puppy.
George blew out a breath, forcing himself to keep his hands at his sides. This was only the second time in weeks Jesse had been able to escape the prison Pricilla had trapped him in. He was determined to enjoy it, even with rules in place.
He is a kicked puppy. I hate causing him pain. It is one of the many burdens I bear, not knowing if I do more harm than good keeping him on. I know what he feels for me and that I will never return it.
George pulled out Jesse’s chair then moved around the table to take his own seat.
But Jesse didn’t sit. He stood looking out the window, and George took a tentative step closer to him.
Tell me what’s on your mind, little one.
Jesse tore his gaze away from the window. I’m sad. It’s not how it was when I first left. There was a lot of wanting to rip your clothes off, as you know.
He half smiled, but the sadness remained in his eyes. Now it’s settled into a sort of longing. I miss my friend. I miss being here with you. I miss waking up to you. Stupid little things.
He paused and pushed a hand into his chest. This fucking ache will not go away.
George closed the distance between them and placed his hands on Jesse’s arms. I know, I know.
He rested their foreheads together. There is a piece of me carved out in the shape of you, and I’m no masochist, so it’s torture. I’d rather be the one inflicting pain than feeling it.
"I’m sorry. I should have never
