    This ebook is a collection of the most popular abbreviations and symbols used in the Internet and text messages. You can find here almost 5000 abbreviations / symbols. The expressions have been divided into the following sections: computer / internet, contractions, emoticons, expressions, initialisms, letters, numbers, shortenings. Here are the explanations of the above-mentioned sections:
    Computer / Internet. This section contains the abbreviations and slang expressions connected with different parts of a computer as well as its functioning. There are also some slang expressions which are very popular among the Internet users. You can find here such abbreviations as: ADSL, AGP, API, ASCII, BBO, BIOS, CMOS, CMYK.
    Contractions. They are abbreviations in which some letters are missing and sometimes are replaced with punctuation marks. Typical examples of contractions are: I’m, isn’t, aren’t. In this section you can find e.g. APT, ATTN, AWSM, BRGDS, BTR, CMD, CMNT, DMG.
    Emoticons. They consist of punctuation marks and are used to express emotions. The marks used in emoticons create specific symbols which can be treated as kind of icons and thus the name emot+icons. They are also very popular in text messages. You can find here e.g. *_*.
    Expressions. These are words or phrases which are used to show certain emotions and which can sometimes imitate the sounds made in specific situations e.g. AHEM, BAM, EEE, MAUH.
    Initialisms. These are abbreviations consisting of the first letter or letters of word in a phrase e.g. ACTA, ADHD, ADL, AKA, AMOF, AOK, ADT, BFA.
    Letters. This section includes the abbreviations which consist of separate letters e.g. ;D, A&F, B&M, B).
    Numbers. The abbreviations presented in this part include numbers e.g. 111, 143, 212, 220.
    Shortenings. These are abbreviations which start or finish with a few letters of the full word or expression e.g. AGGY, AWKY, BARBIE, BIZ, BRILL, CAMO, CIGGIE, CHEVY.
