- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I thought this was excellent. Just what I needed - a book that acknowledges that yes, bad things do happen, but an awful lot of people manage to move beyond the bad things that happened to them. The book isn't just a collection of anecdotes though, you get a real sense of the continuity from the presence of author as he interacts with and thinks about the people he's interviewing or writing about. Instead of being a dispassionate narrator, the author himself is very much a part of this book. I'd also say that the type of inspiration in these stories is not the frantic cheerleader type, but rather a quieter, calmer assurance that yes, it's possible to find happiness in life.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A truly inspiring book which looks unflinchingly at adversity, and gives us good reasons to keep going through it. A wonderful collections of stories and reflections on the human condition.
