      I had some mixed feelings while reading this novel “Seeker’s Garden” by Isa Ritchie. On the one hand, it is beautifully written (save some punctuation problems), almost lyrical and poetic. She can weave words together with the best of them, creating an almost hypnotic spell over the reader as we wander down the paths her characters take. But on the other hand I found it to be a bit meandering at times, and would have preferred a more tightly woven plot. There were a few places where I wondered what was going on and why, and although my questions were eventually answered, I felt that it could have done with some tightening. However, with that said, this was still a remarkable story and I’m very happy to have read it. Ms. Ritchie is clearly a talented writer and she is able to convey a wide range of emotional characters, something that is not easy.

      "Seekers’ Garden” opens with Marcia dealing with the death of her husband, William. But this story isn’t just about Marcia, and we are soon introduced to several other (seemingly) random characters, each who are facing a turning point in their lives. This isn’t an action novel, or even a heavy romance. But what this is is a deep look at life beneath the surface and what different people go through in different times in their lives, and how that affects each one of us. Although I found myself quite caught up in this story, I did feel like a few places went on too long with little that added to the story, and there were some editing issues – nothing that was a complete turnoff, but it was there. Overall I say I really liked this book and would recommend to others who enjoy introspective drama.

      "The Seeker’s Garden” by Isa Ritchie is an incredibly vivid and emotionally charged story about several individuals, each whose separate lives intersect with the others, creating a larger story in itself. The writing style of Ms. Richie is lush and atmospheric, and I was drawn into the story by the end of the prologue. Each of the main characters were well developed and each with their own distinctive “voice”. The pacing was consistent throughout and I enjoyed how everything fell into place. Recommended for fans of women’s fiction.

      "The Seekers’ Garden” is the first book that I have read by Isa Ritchie, but I hope its not the last! The story is kinda hard to sum up in just a few sentences, but it is definitely character-driven and focuses on several different people, and their lives and what happens to them is what makes up the plot. I have to say that at certain times it almost seemed like there were several people writing this book as each character really sounded unique. I read it in two nights, and even though it was longer than I’d expected, I was never bored and was sad when it was over (even though the ending was wonderful). I could see fans of Jodi Piccoult enjoying this book.

      Ok, I LOVED this book! This has got to be some of the best, most beautiful writing I’ve seen in a long time. Admittedly it could have benefitted from a proofreader, as there was some grammar and punctuation stuff. However even that didn’t lessen my enjoyment of this novel any. It is very descriptive and pulls you into the story, and I could picture the scene perfectly in my head. Usually I am pretty good about guessing what will happen in a book, but this one was pretty unpredictable. Definitely didn’t see a lot of stuff coming. All in all it was an easy, enjoyable read that I would highly recommend to others.

      I must admit at first I wondered where everything was going in this novel. I was instantly curious, though, and enjoyed each of the different characters (Marcia, Iris, Zane, Lea, ) and thought they felt authentic and real. This book is constantly shifting point of views, so if this is something that bothers you, than this might not be the book for you. I thought it worked wonderfully as it gave us a bird’s-eye-view into everyone’s lives, but without revealing too much. As I mentioned, at first I wondered where it was all headed, but when the pieces came together I was highly impressed with the way the Isa Ritchie managed to weave such a remarkable story. I’ll definitely be looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.
