About this ebook

A tale of a young girl called Molly Riley, an only child to Clara and Jim. She is happy with her life on the family ranch. Close to both her parents, she thinks her world couldn’t be more perfect. Until one day when everything changes.
The death of her father makes Molly becomes more and more withdrawn, falling victim to her mother choosing to ignore her daughter’s obvious feelings of loss.
Molly is furious when her mother decides to re-marry after just a year of mourning her father’s untimely death. Unable to accept Will as her step-father, Molly takes a horse and runs away aged just sixteen.
Riding into a nearby down, Molly is taken under the wing of the saloon owner Hank. Quickly she finds herself a big hit with the men in town, soon becoming a saloon dance girl. Molly begins to enjoy her new life.
Yet still, there are dramas, difficult decisions to be made to ensure her safety, and her happiness. There is also romance and intrigue as Molly matures, becoming one of the most popular characters in town.

    Chapter 1

Jumping from my bed, I dressed quickly. I could smell Mama’s coffee in my nostrils so I knew that my parents were already up. Papa would already outside, tending to the cattle. It was a warm summer’s day so I slipped into one of my thin dresses. Pushing my feet into my worn shoes, I headed downstairs to the kitchen. Mama was busy making eggs on the stove. I kissed her cheek as I poured myself a glass of milk.

    Morning sleepy head, Mum smiled.

I took my seat at the small dining table. Breathing in the aromas of Mama’s cooking. I always watched her when she cooked, taking in every slight thing that she did, the length of time that she cooked the meats on the stove and the seasonings that she used to provide me and Papa with the tastiest of meals so that one day I could be as good a cook as she was.

Hearing Papa’s boots on the porch outside, Mama took his cup from the side and poured his morning coffee. I loved the smell
