Reviews for Slaves of the Volcano God

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Another good piece of work from Gardner (after his Wuntvor the Apprentice fantasy series) themed around B-movies. He conjures up another memorable cast of characters for this story - though there are some flickers of similarity to the Wuntvor books, that's all they are. I found the story interestingly unpredictable, though as with Wuntvor, Roger's slowness-on-the-uptake sometimes grates; however, what Gardner's doing is clearly throwing a hint to the audience so we can see and appreciate what's going to happen. A fun, easy-to-read book and I immediately started on the sequel.
