About this ebook

Even bicentinarian vampires can have family issues…

After the events of “PRIMpriety”, Lyn’s several-generations-removed cousin now hires her to help out the precinct. But this latest scene is less human, not a crime, and dangerous in a different way than any of them bargained for.

(a short story of about 7100 words or 15–30 minutes of reading.)

Vampires aren’t (un)dead—they’re just what result when an unseelie fae messes with a human. Most vampires don’t know about their fae origins, but Lyn’s special. So special that she's lethally allergic to sunlight, that she’s lived nearly two centuries but still has to work under the table, and that she REALLY can’t afford to be snacked on. It’s a long story. Here’s part of it.

Blood drips to the cement a centimeter in front of my trainers. I look up, only to see the inky black of a moonless sky.

I look down. The blood’s still dripping, landing as if it’s seeping off some ceiling above—a ceiling that isn’t there.

Type A blood, rH negative, all from the same person.

    My stomach rumbles.

I back up, away from the blood, but I still can’t focus enough to catch from whom and whence the blood appears. Magic, has to be, but I don’t sense any.

The Underhill courts can hide their magic.

I mull on that while I duck back under the police tape and return to Reilly, who’s in charge of the scene. My cousin—enough generations removed that he doesn’t know we’re cousins—is arguing with some bloke who
